[2021] MOVED: Game Crashes on start of new world

Originally posted by Odds: Reinstalled to try out the update, wouldnt launch game because of mods. Wiped Valheim folder from all drives manually, uninstalled on Steam, reinstalled and verified. I can get into game, create a character and new world, but 5 seconds after I hit start and get into the loading screen the game will crash.

Any ideas? I fully scoured my 3 drives for Valheim folders / leftovers, verified integrity, tried installing on a new drive, lowered graphics and resolution.

Have you tried running the game as Administrator? Sometimes that fixes issues like this for some technical reason I'm too tired to go google to learn about right now.

Graphics card drivers updated? I'm sure you did but I'd kick myself if I didn't mention it and it turned out to be that lol

Have you tried running it in Windowed mode?
- Right-click the game in your library and select Properties.
- Go to the General tab and click on Set launch options.
- Type -windowed -noborder in the field.
- Click the OK button and exit.

Give that a try, I'll cross my toes.
