2s hey guys this is Dennis from Ghost to
4s Empire I made the audio for the
6s creatures in The valheim Mists update so
8s today I wanted to make a quick little
11s walkr of how I designed the sounds for
13s the yell yell is basically this huge
17s flying tick it's so nasty and super
21s iconic it was actually super fun to um
24s work on this one um not a lot of people
27s know this but the main layer of the
30s sound is made up out of a female
34s vocal um take a listen to this this is
37s how it sounds without any of the
42s processing it's just one note right here
46s and what I did was to pitch it down a
50s couple of octaves and I got
53s [Music]
56s this and then I wanted to make it basy
61s and like really boomy to emphasize the
64s um the size of the
65s [Music]
69s creature um at this point I felt like
72s the sound was lacking energy and
75s movement so I added a pitch shifter and
78s automated some parameters um and I ran
82s the sound through some really greedy
84s Distortion and reverbs and take a look
86s at this
88s [Music]
93s now we're starting to hear the the main
96s layer come to life and the second layer
100s um which is the most prominent one is um
103s I wanted something organic for this one
106s and I was looking in the library and I
108s found uh some sounds of a seal grunting
112s this is what it sounds like without any
113s of the
117s processing um it's it's not much
120s but when you pitch it way down something
125s about like 40 semitones this is what you
131s get you start hearing this clicky rumbly
136s sound and that's what I loved about this
138s so after running it through a bunch of
142s processing this is what I
147s got you can hear that the clicking is
150s really enhanced here and uh when you
153s combine these two this is what you
156s [Music]
161s get pretty cool and then I added some
165s more elements to glue it all together
167s and this is the final
169s [Music]
175s result all right that's about it I hope
177s it was interesting and thanks for
179s watching h
