Hi players.
We have identified some of the most common issues that at first glance may look like a bug, but aren't. Below are explanations and possible solutions for these situations.
First we want to talk about mods.
A mod is files you add to the game that aren't included with the initial Steam update.
Some mods are server side, like Valheim+, and those can also be broken for our big patch. So any weird issues for example you can't sprint anymore, or interact with things with the E button? Those are definitely due to mods.
When you get unity crash on launch, this is almost always connected to an update we have done, and the person behind a mod hasn't pushed an update for that mod, or you as player have a mod that isn’t up to date.
To manage your mods, go to the above folder and delete all folders EXCEPT [MonoBleedingEdge] and [Valheim_Data] And also delete all files EXCEPT steam_appid, UnityCrashHandler64, UnityPlayer, Valheim

You should then be able to reinstall valheim, verify game files and play the game again.
Mods are nice, but should be used with caution and if anything weird happens in the game, try first to disable or remove a mod, before submitting it as a bug.
Other things we have implemented, but which cannot be found in the patchnotes are:
Very long loading time on worlds?
The first time you launch an old world in Hearth & Home, the client will do a “generate locations” command automatically and it will generate all those new locations we have put into the game for you players to discover. This can however have the issue of moving already spawned boss locations so the boss-marker on the map can be wrong. This is solved by removing the marker and interacting with a Vegvisir stone again.
Fire related equipment!
The smelter, blast furnace, oven, and charcoal kiln now produce smoke that needs to be ventilated out, just like the brand new bathtub! If it cannot go anywhere, the equipment will stop working in periods or looks like it is flickering.
Auto-pickup items!
We have added the option to toggle auto-pickup so your inventory doesn’t get clogged when you run from point A to B, or while mining and you don’t want to pick up everything while you're pickaxing. The default key for this toggle is “V”, but you can go to keybindings in the settings menu to change this to whatever you like.
Grills!
If you previously had meat on a grill, and then you updated to hearth & home, things can get stuck on the grill. You will need to deconstruct the grill and rebuild it, because we have updated how the timing functionality works with grills. Previously you could put things into a smelter and it would smelt things fast during the night, but the items on a grill would remain as if time stood still. This has now been reworked so grills also get affected by the same timer functionality (so using the skiptime devcommand will now turn your meat into coal).
Cartography table pins
The last person that updates the table will have their markers on the map. This is so the table doesn’t save every single marker people have placed.
New iron walls / floors
While they may look like they would allow for smoke to travel through them, this isn’t an easy thing to enable in coding. Hence they don’t let smoke pass through them.
New animal slaughter system
Since many players take wolves into combat, we also introduced lox that can go into combat with the player. As it was before, the tamed animals would still take damage if the player would use a weapon to close and kill the wolf or lox. We changed so tamed animals have the same “group” as players. The drawback to this however is that you need a butcher knife now to kill them (or you can just toggle your friendly fire setting and kill them).
Valheim running CPU/GPU hot
Even though Valheim has lower polygon graphics, it uses raycasting, physical calculations, point light shadows, post processing, particle effects and many other things that other modern games also use. All of these combine into what may make you experience low FPS in a game like Valheim. In the game settings, there is a setting for Vsync. Enabling this limits the FPS to your monitors’ Hertz; this is something we would recommend high-end computers to use so the game doesn't try to produce the maximum number of FPS it can produce just for the sake of a lot of FPS, which in the end just makes your hardware run very warm when it doesn’t really need to.

-
Updated map
- You will now see every position where you have died, instead of the old one where it only showed the latest death. You can remove them by right-clicking with the mouse on them.
- When you have some copied pins on your map, they will appear dark-gray. But left-click with the mouse on the, they will turn white and they will then be added to your markers.
- You can now toggle which type of markers you will see on the map. Right-click on them on the right side of the map GUI and you can toggle the groups on/off.
