A filter for "owned only" is on the shortlist. That said, all of the stuff you own should be grouped together at the front of the list.
If that's the case, I think there might be a bug with the gun buddies list. They're not being grouped at the start at the moment.
You're right, buddies don't sort correctly. We'll fix that.
