31s of Esports meeting so many players crazy
34s matches broken pick thems though I did
37s end up in the top 1% what a week I am
40s exhausted I need a nap and some fried
42s chicken before we fly back home we
45s wanted to thank you all for being with
47s us on the road to Champs this year and
49s we also want to welcome the game

62s valerant launched on Console just last
64s month and your response has already
66s surpassed our wildest dreams it's
68s amazing to see how many new players are
70s playing our game on Console bringing
71s their friends into the fun and honestly
73s learning a ton from our PC players
75s seeing our existing players welcome a
77s whole new group of people in with mostly
80s open arms and only a minimum of
81s controller shade has given us all the
83s warm and fuzzies so much gratitude let's
86s jump into our main topics for today

93s manager on Val gameplay hey and I'm Dan
96s Val's balance design lead we're happy to
98s be back to take a minute to discuss
99s where the game's at heading into the end
101s of the year these year- end patches are
102s typically the best opportunity for us to
104s make necessary balance adjustments and
106s try new things without disrupting Pro
108s playay you can expect the year end to be
109s a time where you see larger scope
111s changes that are meant to have a
112s substantial impact on the game the
114s updates we made to ISO neon Raina and
116s Rays have helped us hit our goals
118s overall while we did overswing on ISO
120s initially after the follow-up patch the
121s dualist ecosystem is in a pretty healthy
123s and varied State for the most part and
124s we think this push and pull is a totally
126s normal part of live balance with
128s competitive games we want to ship more
130s patches throughout the year but we also
132s want to ship them in a way so that
133s they're not overly disruptive we are
135s still working on Phoenix and we're
136s planning some other opportunistic
137s changes within the dualist roster but we
139s also see some other spots on the roster
141s that are in need of some tuning
142s particularly among some of our weaker
144s sels and our controllers we know a lot
146s of you will be expecting Harbor changes
147s with this patch but unfortunately
149s they're taking a little bit longer since
150s we think he needs larger scope work and
152s we're still exploring our options here
154s additionally shortly after filming this
155s video Vice will be joining the roster so
158s we'll be following her performance
159s closely as we do with all of our agent
161s releases so now as we near the end of
163s the year and VCT is over you'll start to
165s see some of these changes roll out patch
167s 905 we made some changes to Astra and
169s chamber for Astra we wanted to improve
171s her total utility output compared to
173s other controllers and for chamber we
175s improved his capability to defend
176s territory aggressively and still make it
177s out alive we're also buffing the Aries
180s to improve its viability compared to the
181s rest of the mid-range price point
183s weapons in patch 905 additionally we're
185s making it easier to control recoil when
187s your fire rate is increased by things
188s like Raina ult or brimon you can also
190s expect changes to Phoenix Sage Cipher
193s and gecko there might be some other fun
194s things in store for patch 910 but we'll
196s update you on that more later but before
198s we go we mentioned on our socials that
200s you'd all see a new map rotation in 9008
202s ice boox and Lotus are out and split and
205s pearl are back in in that video we
207s mentioned that we're making some
208s adjustments to Sunset more specifically
210s we're adjusting bite to make it more
212s defensible at a baseline removing the
214s unbreakable Cipher trap wire spot and
216s changing bman to reduce some of that
217s postplant gaml we'll also be making some
219s light changes to Mid to add some
221s Defender options when Defender opt into
223s contest and we've heard your feedback on
225s map rotations trust us we haven't
227s forgotten that fracture exists we're
229s looking at updating our schedule and
230s Cadence of map rotations going forward

241s pretty exciting news about ranked get

246s cheat hey everyone I'm Britney an
249s analyst with the anti-che team on
250s valerent you probably already know that
253s valerent uses an anti-che system called
255s Vanguard to keep the playing field fair
256s and keep cheaters out of our game in
258s fact only 1% of valerin games have
260s cheaters and the average cheaters is
262s caught and banned within their first six
264s games valerant debut on Console marks a
266s significant milestone for us with
268s anti-che both dealing with a new new
270s platform and new classes of cheats like
272s input spoofing AKA ziming we've done a
274s pretty good job of proactively catching
276s and banning users of these tools our
278s anti-che for console will continue to
280s evolve as cheaters do and we're looking
281s to stay ahead of the curve but we know
283s on occasion that some of you on PC or
285s console might run into a cheater and
287s that cheater isn't banned and the match
288s isn't terminated you might be wondering
291s if the Vanguard team is so good how are
293s the cheaters able to play without
294s getting red screened Vanguard is a
296s delicate Tango of prevention and
298s detection we strive to block sheet
300s outright but when immediately blocking a
302s cheat would make our techniques too
303s transparent we detect the intrusion and
306s delay our response while we agree that
308s the delay isn't ideal it's an integral
311s ingredient for your anti-che chefs to
312s cook up better detections but as a way
314s to make it up to all of you honest
316s Gamers out there we're happy to announce
318s that valerant is working on implementing
320s ranked roll backs basically if you
322s played and lost a game with the cheater
324s on the other team and that cheater was
326s later banned you'll receive a refund of
328s any RR lost the anti-cheat space is a
331s never-ending battle and despite our
333s polite requests for cheaters to stop
335s some will always try to cheat keep up
337s the excellent work reporting suspicious
338s behavior and will continue keeping your
340s games a safe and competitive

347s our teams manag the player Behavior
348s experience in val when Anna made her
351s statement about keeping our community
352s healthy a couple of months ago we work
354s together to make a few commitments to
355s you we have significantly accelerated
357s the severity of penalties received for
359s comm's abuse
360s and we've expanded the restrictions on
362s gameplay to include all team based modes
365s not just competitive and Premiere and we
367s also unlocked Hardware bands for
369s Behavior we'll only issue these for
371s cases where we manually review we took a
373s look at those manual review processes
375s and audited them we now have clearer
377s steps for who needs to be involved and
380s when so that we can have faster manual
382s escalations and we're also Staffing
384s support to review a higher volume of
387s repeat offenders if you've been
388s repeatedly disruptive over the past
390s episode you received a notification a
392s couple of weeks ago any subsequent
393s Behavior events will be weighed more
395s heavily if you're disruptive expect a
397s ban we know that voice is still a major
400s area for comms abuse and we started a
402s beta for automated voice evaluation in
404s North America last year we've seen good
406s results so far and are committed to
409s rolling out voice valuation globally and
411s that's coming before the end of the year
412s however building confidence around other
414s languages is taking longer than we
416s anticipated so we'll support English
418s globally first and rolling out a
420s additional languages over time we need
421s to continue to invest heavily here and
423s are committed to doing
426s so if you did your placement matches and
429s received a rank you probably placed a
430s little bit lower than where you were
432s last season we feel the pros and the
434s cons to resets regular resets help to
436s shake out the inconsistencies and
438s maintain a consistent definition of
440s skill at every level at the same time
442s not seeing that rank that you work so
443s hard to achieve can be rough we're
445s currently looking into ways to keep the
447s benefits of resetting ranks while
449s providing more opportunities for upside
451s to balance against that feels bad now to
454s our new console friends welcome Champs

479s couple months of testing we saw that
480s players were climbing the ranks faster
483s than we had anticipated and the stats
485s behind it didn't quite match up so we
487s reset ranks and have a more effective
489s rank Distribution on Console now going
491s forward both console and PC will reset
493s rank at the same Cadence though console
495s players shouldn't expect a change as big
497s as the beta adjustment we're just
498s getting warmed up we'll be back soon on
