Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Patch notes 1.09

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug


  1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
  2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Type of Bug: Client Bug, In Game Bug, etc.

Description: Describe what was the bug that occurred.

Video / Screenshot: Insert screenshot (F12 in game) or Video of the bug occurring.

Steps to reproduce: Provide the steps necessary if someone else had to reproduce the bug.

Expected result: What should have been the result when you follow the steps mentioned above.

Observed result: What was the result you obtained when you followed the steps mentioned above?

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.


Example Bug:

Region: EU

Type of Bug: Matchmaking

Description: Matchmaking doesn't work properly

• Insert Video / Screenshot of the incident

Reproduction rate: 10/10 (happened 10 out of 10 times)

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch a game

Expected result: Match starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite queue

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia Graphics card (insert model number) etc.

Thanks for the report! Got any additional details about when it happened and how it happened?

When you say frozen, you mean the screen was frozen but you still heard audio? Could you still hear voice?

Thanks for the report! Any particular characters that you've been playing or observed a common thread with the freezes?

Are the freezes only occurring on round end?

For me, I’ve only been playing omen in ranked and it’s only been around when the round is ending, I’m not sure exactly when because the sound cuts out, but oddly enough I can still hear and talk to my teammates. I think it’s the screen freezing but not the game because my teammates said my agent was turning when I was moving my mouse

We're aware of an issue where the game is freezing at the end of a round for some players. We're looking for more information and need your help - if you encounter this issue, please don't close the game right away!

First, follow this guide to get a process dump from VALORANT while the game is frozen. You can follow this guide to see how to get that - https://support.kaspersky.com/common/diagnostics/12401

If you are able to get a process dump, please send it to me directly!

If you had a freeze and came here to report it but don't have a dump, that's okay too. Please comment in this thread explaining what happened so we can try to nail down any common factors. Thanks!

Entire game is frozen but PC isn't (I run windowless mode). Always recovers after 10 seconds or so but when it unfreezes my character is sent in the direction I was last moving. Which seems to indicate the client is still possibly sending data out to the server of the last user input.

Sounds like this issue is just becoming more common rather than new... (from my experience and what I'm reading).

Edit: I was wrong. The issue I mentioned is different. I had the same error occur just now and tried to make a process dump but it didn't make one. Kept saying it was making one then the prompt just disappeared.

What you're describing is a different issue, as this one ends up with the game being perma-frozen

the round ended before bomb went off but sound kept playing till it detonated. i finally closed visual client but CHAT audio was still there. Had to go to process details and end an instance of valorant there before restarting and loading back into the game. I was able to get back in only missing 1 round, fortunately.

Downloaded files today in client I hope this was a ghost patch with a solution, thanks for looking into this!
