How's everyone's ping to Mumbai?
I am in Bangalore and strangely, I am getting a higher ping to Mumbai (~51ms) than I am to Singapore (~43ms). I realize that it's probably the routing, but it's still a bit vexing since Singapore is three times the distance, and well, Mumbai and Bangalore are in the same country.
u/ZealousApathy is this normal? I am with the largest carrier (Airtel) btw and have 4ms ping to ISP.
It's not unusual for particular ISPs in particular regions to have sub-optimal routing. We'll compile direct user feedback like this and also look at our player telemetry to see what changes need to be made. Unfortunately it also requires the ISPs to cooperate which isn't always fast!
I'm going to add Bangalore/India/Airtel to our list.
Can you please look into BBNL too? BBNL Mangalore, Singapore servers giving me 49ms and Mumbai- 70+
Apologies, my Indian geography isn't great. Is Mangalore the city you live in, and BBNL the ISP?
