Greetings Agents!

New patch, new Bug mega. To avoid bugs report cluttering the subreddit and/or going unnoticed we will get a single Megathread which will be posted today and after every patch so that you guys can report the various issues in one place. This allows Riot to easily keep track of the bugs by providing a central hub and also allows other users to confirm that they might have encountered.

Patch notes 1.0

Prerequisites to be noted before reporting a bug

  1. A bug will ideally be accompanied with a screenshot or a video. This provides credibility to your report.
  2. Steps to recreate the bugs should be submitted if possible. This helps Rioters recreate the bug and helps them find the cause behind it.

Format when reporting a bug: When reporting a bug, please provide as much information as you can about your computer.

Region: The region you're playing in when you encountered the bug

Reproduction rate: If you try to recreate the bug how successful are you in causing it to occur? (1/10 : Occurs once every 10 tries, 5/10 : Occurs 5 times out of 10, 10/10 : Happens every single time)

System specs: Processor, Video card, Ram, HDD/SSD, everything you can provide, even drivers.

Sorry for the very late response, but thank you for the report. We are aware, investigating, and looking to implement a fix asap. We're validating it before we roll it out, and we will 100% make sure all impacted accounts are resolved. Sorry about this :(

•Description: So, I launch the game and I'm in "The Range" tutorial area. Everything looks smooth and normal until the game detects any input. When that happens, the game freezes and crashes making Valorant unplayable for me.

•Reproduction rate: 7/7

•System specs: -Windows 7 SP1 64bit -Intel Core i5-3470 3.2 GHz -AMD Radeon R7 240 2gb -4gb RAM DDR3

Thanks for the report! Can you click "yes" on that option, and then grab me the crash dump that it generates? It should prompt you with a message asking "do you want to copy this path to your clipboard?" after generating the crash dump, so you can find it there. You'll need to upload somewhere like Google Drive, as it will be a large file.

If you zip the file up first, it will be a lot smaller and easier to upload.

Same issue here. Also 100% reproduction rate. Happened in 600 seconds log in queue, in collection menu as well as in practice range.

Frames drop to only few and whole PC freezes for around a minute, after which I get critical error message. Choices I make in error message have no impact also.

Same as above - can you send me the crash dump file that's generated after you press "yes" on the critical error prompt?

Type of Bug: Client bug

Description: Today I tried to start Valorant, and instead of the game actually starting my whole computer froze, in a way it has never happened before. I couldn't move the cursor, CTRL+ALT+DEL wasn't working, at this moment I was in a discord call with my friends and the audio of my friend talking froze too into a repeating ear-tearing sound. I had to manually shut down my computer which I never have to do. After this I started my computer again and tried to launch it, instead of the client starting or anything the game just didn't want to even start. I checked the resource monitor for my computer and Valorant was automatically closing when I tried to start it up. I am afraid that this crash that happened to my computer was caused by riot's anti-cheat system, Riot Vanguard and I really don't know what to do to prevent this from happening in the future and how can I even launch the game again. This is the log from the CrashReportClient: https://pastebin.com/bhtaassK
If any of you have experience with this or know how to help me please respond because this is a serious problem that I think could even damage my computer if I don't do something about it + now I can't even launch the game.

Video / Screenshot:

Reproduction rate: 10/10

Steps to reproduce: Launching the game

Expected result: Game starting

Observed result: Game shut down by my computer

System Specs: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-2310 CPU @ 2.90GHz, Windows 10, GeForce GTX 1060 6GB

Thanks for the report! Thanks to your crash log, I was able to identify that your particular crash was slipping through our detection. Now I've got that fixed up and we're investigating.

For anyone else encountering this issue, reinstalling the game could fix the issue.

Hi,

Thank you for your reply. As of right now, I no longer experience these crashes and freezes. Yesterday I installed extra 4gb of RAM - 4gb to 8gb ( Don't know if that has to do anything with this problem). I decided to give Valorant another try and for some reason, it made me have to install Vanguard again. I install it, reboot my computer, start Valorant and it didn't freeze or crash. I am finally able to play. Unfortunately, since I no longer have this problem, I can't create a dump 🙁.

Hm, interesting, well thanks for the reply!

Type of Bug: Game fails to load

Description: After update 0.50 (including version 1.0) the game gets infinitely stuck on loading screens. It happens when starting a shooting range or match.

Video of the incident: https://youtu.be/wxVQi4nUJhE

Reproduction rate: 100% of the time. Tried getting in the game for hours and hours with no luck

Steps to reproduce: Try to launch the game and go to the shooting range or start a match.

Expected result: Match/practice starting

Observed result: Getting stuck in infinite loading or after some time being booted back to the main menu.

System Specs: Intel i5 Processor, Windows 7, Nvidia 770, WD Black Hdd, 24 GB RAM.

Another interesting thing to note: It is interesting that the "ESC" key still registers during these infinite loads. It does not do anything, but I can hear the sound after pressing it. The sound that the "ESC" manu makes when opening and closing. Also after the amount of time it should take the game to load I hear the "bzzt" sound that if usually heard when loading into the level. I hear it twice with a delay of about half a minute. If I try to load the new map (ascesion) after some time I start to hear the wind.

So far this has not helped:

  • Uninstalled Vanguard

  • Reinstalled Valorant

  • Updated GPU drivers and later reinstalled GPU drivers

  • Added Valorant (game, anticheat and client) to firewall exceptions

  • Disabled Windows Firewall

  • Set all Valorant executables to "Run as administrator"

  • Loging out and loging back in

  • Deleting the txt files in the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ut1mOS63BZg&list=PLOHBcHf9rXWz0YY1NREZHoThrMAQi_IsI&index=2&t=0s

  • Closing all non-essential apps (Discord, CPU temp monitors, Logitech, Razer, etc.)

Progress of fixing from RIOT: Trying to resolve the problem

Sorry this is happening to you! You can clearly connect to the platform in Frankfurt but then sounds like you can't connect to the game server we assign you to. We've seen some weird ISP problems in Europe, so let's try and diagnose this from your end and see if we can find something affecting all of the players in your area. I'll DM you for logs and some other things.
