Trying to add a friend - I literally need to google how to do it. What is a tagline? Do I include the "#"? - apparently not.

The only reason I knew there was a battle pass was because I heard people talking about it on Reddit, if you click "Store" nothing shows up. It's hidden in some tiny little star icon.

There is literally an article "How to buy VALORANT’s battle pass" that popped up in search suggestions, I guess a lot of people are having similar trouble finding it.

Skin levels, confusing currencies I don't fully understand how they interact, weapon skin selection is just left and right click and can only see 3 skins at a time.

Unlocking agents is another separate small button - and it's progression is shown through player card unlocks? When I get the last card unlock, do I have to do it again to get another agent, I have no idea. What are contracts for? More player card unlock type things?

My friend told me they're in practice mode- wait how do I get into practice mode? I see unrated, spike rush, custom game, is it a custom? Oh it's in the bottom left for some reason.

I want to recruit a new agent "Play some more games to unlock a new Agent!" how many games? Why not just have a non-premium currency like IP?

There's no way they consulted a UI/UX designer for this.

Sorry it's not working as smoothly as you'd like. As the UX designer I'm happy to shed a little light on a few of these:

  • The labels explaining the contract and battlepass widgets in the nav did not make it for launch in light of other priorities. The first versions of those are coming in the next patch. Hopefully, once you know what those are, you'll find the ability to spot check your progress from anywhere worth the new approach. If not, let me know!
  • If you're only seeing three skins below a gun, there are only three skins; the thumbnail area should expand to show more when there are more. There's a counter just below that shows the total count if you want to verify that what you're seeing is right.
  • The practice mode button is there because you can enter practice mode solo while still in a party, and only the party leader can select the mode options up top and put the party into queue. Practice is similar to entering queue, but has a different set of rules depending on your party status so the button is set apart.

Your notes about why we don't use IP and why contracts work the way they do are better fielded by the designers who work directly on those features. Appreciate you and the others in this thread taking the time to write up feedback. I'll keep on eye on this for more.

I agree. I also find it extremely confusing.

What parts have been extremely confusing? I'm all ears.
