The Obvious:

  • The Vandal: A modern AK variant (duh). One key difference between IRL AK's and the Vandal is the Vandal's charging handle (what you pull to "c*ck" the gun) is found on the left side instead of the right. The AK is sort of known for having its charging handle on the right, so just a thought.
  • The Phantom: The Phantom is a carbon-copy suppressed SCAR-L variant
  • The Guardian: Definitely is a futurized M1 Garand. However, three key differences exist. The magazine is reloaded from the bottom, like modern firearms, instead of the Garand's signature 8 round stripper clip. The magazine is larger, carrying 12 rounds instead of 8. There is also a modern pistol-style grip on the Guardian, a trait found in nearly all modern firearms.
  • The Classic: It seems is a slightly futurized FN-9 handgun, judging from its distinctive grip.
  • The Shorty: Just your typical hill-billy sawed-off double-barreled shotgun.
  • The Judge: Everyone's love/hate relationship is a futurized AA-12 full-auto shotgun, with a drum mag that for some reason, only hold 7 shells. The drum mag in real life can hold up to 32 shells! So either the Judge is using a 7 round drum mag (which is stupid, as drum mags have a tendency to have feeding issues, just use a normal mag!), or firing really really large shells.
  • The Sheriff: Just your typical six-shooter revolver chambered in a high caliber. Maybe .308
  • The Marshall: This is just your typical cowboy Western lever action rifle with a scope mounted on it. Maybe a Remington model.
  • The Bulldog: Definitely is an AUG variant. (fun fact, it's named the Bulldog because it's a bullpup assault rifle, which means the magazine and firing system is located behind the grip. Bullpup? Bulldog? Get it?)
  • The Bucky: This shotgun is a most likely a shorter version of the M870 Remington pump-action shotgun

The Not-So Obvious

Here is where we can see Riot start to either mix guns together or simply insert their own unique guns:

  • The Ghost: The Ghost may seem like a USP-S to CS:GO players, but its actually not not. It's much sleeker, with a lower profile than the USP pistol. If I had to guess, it's a futurized Walther P38, with a super thick trigger guard as a touch from Riot's design team.
  • The Frenzy: This pistol looks nothing like the CZ-75, despite CS:GO players calling the Frenzy Riot's knockoff CZ. This pistol accepts it's magazine in front of the grip, a feature found in the Tec-9. However, the Frenzy obviously does not look like a Tec-9, so its probably a fusion of whatever normal pistol and the Tec, with Riot's own unique touches added.
  • The Stinger: This SMG is most likely a fusion of the UMP SMG and the CZ Scorpion Evo 3. The stock, grip, bolt, reciever and magazines match the UMP, while the barrel shroud matches the CZ Scorpion. The Stinger also inherits the Scorpions extremely fast rate of fire, clocking in at 1080 rounds per minute. Not as fast as the Scorpion IRL but that's damn fast.

On a side note, Riot, WHY ARE YOUR RATE OF FIRE STATS LISTED IN ROUNDS PER SECOND? USE ROUNDS PER MINUTE LIKE NORMAL PEOPLE GODDAMIT!

Ok, back to business.

  • The Spectre: The gun seems to be a fusion of the famous MP5 and the M16 family of rifles. The barrel, grip, and signature curved 30 round magazine all match the MP5's charcteristics. It even has the MP5's famous telescoping stock, which your character pulls out when he/she equips the weapon. However, the Spectre does not have the MP5 firing system, instead possessing the M16 family's firing system where the charging handle is found in the form of a bolt found behind the rear sights of the gun.
  • The Operator: The Op seems to be a fusion of two .50 caliber sniper rifles: The Macmillan Tac-50 and the Barrett M82 sniper. The Operator possess the Tac-50's bolt action system with a bit of futuristic details, while also possessing the Barrett's magazine capacity (5 rounds), receiver, and barrel. The Operator, judging from its disticntive boom, and the size of the bullets, fires a similar .50 BMG cartridge. What does that mean? Your character's shoulders should be f*cking broken after firing this gun multiple times, let alone even once. .50 cal sniper are designed to be fired from a mounted/prone position because .50 cal rounds are super powerful.
  • The Ares: I can't think of any guns that the Ares is modeled off of at the moment, so I'll just say that Riot designed their own gun. Seems like your typical SAW (squad automatic weapon) that you would give to the support guy in your squad. It even comes with a bipod.
  • The Odin: The Odin is probably of Riot's own design, I can't think of any other HMG's that look similar to this in any way at the moment. However, judging from the size of the cartridges in the belt, it fires .50 caliber rounds. Which makes no goddamn sense, given the Odin's fire rate. .50 caliber machine guns and automatic weapons of higher calibers are mounted for a reason. The most famous .50 cal machine gun, the M2 Browning, has a pretty slow rate of fire at 400-500 RPM unless mounted on aircraft, and that's for good reason. There's no feasible way to shoot bullets of that power grade accurately at high fire rates on the ground, even when mounted. The Odin has near double that fire rate, at 936 RPM at max ramp. Only 2-3 Operator shots can hurt you severely when firing from your shoulder. Now imagine what will happen if you just fire hundreds of Operator shots at 936 rounds per minute. Ah well. Video game it is.
  • Knife: The Knife seems to be just a knife of Riot's own design. A blade with a molded grip, a serrated back edge, and blade shape that reminds me of the US KA-BAR. Knife's a knife!

Well the sheriff based on the model is chambered in a handgun cartridge so it's much more likely to be .44 magnum or .454 casull or future equivalent of them. Also, because valorant takes place in the future, it's possible that guns like the frenzy and bulldog just haven't been made in today's world in the valorant universe. Not every bullpup is a famas ...

Yep .44 magnum

As the person responsible for modelling around half of these base weapons (alongside Riot_Oniram), it's great to read through these comparisons from the OP and in the comments. Speaking of the Judge, we like to joke internally about how the Odin somehow fits 100 .50 cal bullets in the ammo box :).
