It was great sitting down with you, Yezzan! Hope you all like Forsaken, the corrupted dark side of Sovereign! :)

Preeti and I had this bit of hope that we'd get through the whole thing without the sovereign connection being brought up and then itd be a "OMG WTF" moment when we changed to the Variant! haha. but either way it was also so exciting (evident by preeti's "YAAAAHH!") that you got it immediately! this was awesome to walk through with you!
You hit the nail on the head. Thought along the same lines. Was also a little shocked that the devs were hoping that people wouldn’t automatically think of Sovereign and Reaver. The Gem and the sharp Reaver lines, it was about as subtle as a sledgehammer.
Nope, actually we're really glad the connection to Sovereign is so evident. These skins were developed very intentionally to be connected to one another. Our "noooo" reaction was that we thought we'd have more fun teasing it to Yezzan and then revealing it after a few minutes but he guessed it immediately.
So... any word on that butterfly knife? btw the forsaken is sick
we revealed it at the beginning of this month!
Okay I can see more along the lines of how you as a developer was thinking. The skin set might not be for me, but I really do enjoy and appreciate the interviews the development team gives. Hearing your thoughts and how the process went is cool and I find it interesting.
How long does a skin line (with animations and vfx) usually take? In the video you had mentioned ‘forsaken’ started the same week as quarantine. I really enjoy a lot of the skins (elderflame IMO is the most unique and B.A. cosmetics in any game I have played) but sometimes I don’t realize how much work and time goes into making them.
I'm so glad you enjoy hearing about the dev process. Sean and I love talking to players and influencers about the dev process because we personally love more behind-the-scenes stuff for games, shows, movies, etc. we love.
It takes anywhere from a year to a year-and-a-half from the time we start making the skin til it's done. If you count time spent coming up with the concept sketches, add a few more months to that.
Elderflame took longer because it was a huge challenge and something we'd never done before.
wait what- nevermind I forgot about April fools
Is that not what you all wanted? :'(
Not to mention the default gunshot sounds too.
It has custom audio, not default.
Really? The custom moving/reload sounds are definitely noticeable, but the gunshots themselves sound practically the same as the default (unlike collections like the Reaver and Prime that have a very noticeably different gunshot sound).
It’s just harder to hear in the recording (we recorded the video and audio on our end). It’s there. :)

We used the same instruments we used in Sovereign but in a Minor key so it sounds more sorrowful.
I lied, I bought the forsaken bundle and I truly enjoy it! Fantastic bundle! The knife’s glowing bits that “flake off” really makes what’s on the screen feel alive. While I didn’t think it was for me, I was happily mistaken.
I’m so glad you gave it a try and like it! I bought the bundle too because I love the effects and audio. :)
Very nice! Kinda curious what your go to skins are. Are you more of a Prime of Reaver type of Valoranter?
Also, with Iceland kicking off tomorrow are you rooting for any team in particular? Being from NA, really hoping Sentinels and V1 can perform to their fullest potential.
I’m all about edgy skins, so Reaver and Forsaken. And Singularity.
I’m rooting for NA as well! :)
Hey, I’m really sorry but I have question and haven’t been able to find an answer. In the new LoL crossover collection, is the melee “Broken Blade of the Ruined King” a reference to Narsil from Lord of The Rings? The way the blade is broken and the name just scream Narsil. Sorry to keep going back to this thread, just would put my mind at ease lol. Love the new collection, great job!
Nope, we just thought it would be cool to have a broken version of the blade.
