I currently hover around S1 but feel like I should be maybe be a little higher. I play with the same group of friends on most nights and as we climb, they get substantially more gains for wins and less punishment for losses despite me being the top fragger of almost every match and them being ranked above me. We can have a win where I am match MVP and my RR gains are beat out by a S3 who had 12 less kills than me. My understanding of the hidden MMR system is that Valorant believes I am a lower actual skill level than my silver 1 suggests and are trying to force me down, but I am regularly outfragging people ranked higher than me and going positive against golds. I assume there has to be something I am missing pretty substantially to understand why they don’t like my gameplay.
Is there something to do with utility usage or death counts outweighing kill counts that I need to consider? I will note that I play duelist and most of the others don’t - is this a factor? I read somewhere that Valorant looks at more factors within the game to determine how good you are, but I really want to understand them. I am trying to avoid making a clean account, I just want to know what I am doing wrong and fix it. Sorry if this is a stupid question, I’ve just been looking everywhere and can’t seem to find a consensus. We have all come to the conclusion that my account is just broken but I assume there is something I can do to prove myself to the hidden system.
