If you're dodging in the lobby, you're hurting no one. You're maybe costing someone what, a minute of their time at most?
We have no control over what map we get, and if we get some 9 year old screaming into the microphone on a map I've played 6 times today, I'm going to dodge. I don't dodge often, but when I do, its scenarios exactly like that and I get punished for it. Why?
I lost 3 RR for dodging the other day, and apparently you lose 8RR (I believe it's 8 as of patch 2.06) for abandoning a match for 6+ rounds. So, you lose nearly half as much RR for dodging as you do for abandoning a match which is arguably far worse? That math doesn't add up. Sidenote, abandoning a match for 6+ rounds should count as a lost game.
You get roughly 20 RR for a win if your rank is synced with your RR, so that 3 RR a 15% loss just for dodging before the game even begins. That's way too high.
I understand part of the reason was to get people to play the game out even though their character might've been insta-locked. I think there are plenty of people playing this game at any given time that queue dodging so play you can play the character you want isn't a big deal. The time penalty was good enough. To be clear, I don't queue dodge if someone insta-locks my character.
