[2022] Need Moral Guidance lol

I'm a student at a college that just got done with Valorant tryouts. I did well as expected against mostly diamonds and some Ascendent and the occasional immortal, communicated calmly, etc. I was playing Initiator and Controller roles. Fast forward a day or two and an executive member of the organization tells me I'm pretty much confirmed to be the Team Captain and IGL for the top team. I'm allowed to choose my teammates and I pick all the highest players that I vibed with: an Imm1, Imm3, and Imm3. The last one has been iffy but let's just say it's another Imm or high Asc. I feel unworthy of the position because the people I am leading are clearly more talented and have better game sense than me. I don't want to let anyone down and that's why I've come here for help lol. I've pretty much solo queued to Ascendent 2 with the occasional duo here and there.

Would it be ok for me to queue with 2 or 3 of my future teammates so my rank and overall skill and experience increase?

TLDR: I'm going to be placed in a leadership role over 4 people that are higher ranked than me. Should I queue with them so my skill/rank matches theirs? Am I being greedy? Am I overthinking this?
