I ran into a anonymous Skye in unrated that I almost certainly thought was not a riot dev, but they said they were. After the game I checked for the infamous “Riot” in their name, but it wasn’t there. Is there still a chance it was a dev?
External link →All players with "Riot" in their name are devs, but just because they don't have Riot in their name doesn't mean they're not a dev. In one of Riot's blog posts about gun buddies they even said some Riot devs just don't have it in their username.
This is correct! Some rioters choose not to add 'Riot' to their name. Though, you probably shouldn't believe someone if they tell you they're a dev without providing proof.
