0s	welcome to ranked 101 today we're
2s	covering MMR which stands for
4s	matchmaking rating unlike your rank and
6s	RR MMR isn't visible to players and is
9s	the main math we used on the back end to
11s	evaluate your skill level so here's how
13s	it works your rank and MMR are linked
16s	together and generally your MMR moves
18s	first and moves more rapidly your rank
21s	will catch up to your MMR through bigger
23s	or smaller changes to RR at the end of
25s	each match this helps your rank move in
27s	a predictable fashion while still being
29s	calibrated to your actual skill level so
32s	what does this mean for new players or
33s	after a rank reset for new players we
35s	want to make sure that you belong at
37s	your MMR as it's especially volatile
39s	early on playing more matches gives us
41s	confidence to calibrate what your rank
43s	should be for players returning after a
45s	reset we want to be sure that you still
46s	belong at your MMR so we ask that you
49s	reprove that before we award you a rank
51s	at each Act because the overall skill of
53s	our players is always changing and the
55s	gameplay is always evolving
