Hi guys
I was so happy when they added this tool because I suffer when I have to keep pinkie pressed for a long time (not a problem for one day but I start noticing it after several hours or when I have been playing regularly for days). Even if I can agree in terms of gameplay "press to" can be smoother I prefer it in the healthiest way for me.
What's the problem then?
That it doesn't reset to the default type of movement (you can select if shift is for running/walking and wich one is the default one).
For example it's way easier to know what you are doing (and I think way more reasonable and similar to the other option) to be forced to shift every time you want to run (or walking as I said it depends) after staying still. All the games I have played do it like that and I think if that tool is in the game should be well implemented and not like how is it now. RIght now is just a disadvantage that forces you to remember every moment what movement were you doing before in a game where being walking running usually makes a huge difference (1 extra running step makes that suddenly all the enemies know where you are trying to retake from).
Edit: A better example of what I was saying. You come inside a point you see someone you counterstrafe and you kill the dude. Without the alternate option what do you do right after? You press shift or not depending if you think you have to run outside the point again bc you are in a disadvantage vs the other guy, you keep running to him, you start walking because you don't want the enemy to know where are you hiding. All this dexission imply that every step counts and that you need to take those decissions as fast as possible. Right now if you play woth alternate you need to think after killing the first dude: wait did I enter the point running and rushing or trying to sneak by walking? Or was I walking till the last moment and then I ran to cause disruption? All this adda an unnecessary step that would be removed with: I want to exit running I press shift, I don't want to i don't.
