Hotfix 2.0.15.1
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when leaving a game

Heroes!
Welcome to Patch 2.0.15. Thank you for taking part in the experimental test this past week. It's been great to see your feedback on that, as well as the bugs you've reported as a result of the test.

The patch focuses on bringing back some of the tightness of the combat loops and engagements you face within Helmgart that you, rightfully, told us was out of whack. This covers areas such as enemy density, strike reliability, sound cues and enemy spawns.

The Experimental Test highlighted some new issues and provided feedback on the end event tuning that was present in the test. As a result of the test, we've fixed a bunch of those issues such as explosions triggering multiple times (this impacted bombs, hagbane, Sienna staves etc). The issue of bots dying through the Skittergate has been resolved, as well as other issues reported in the test.

We've also removed the "on spawn" audio prompts once more from specials such as the Globadier and Warpfire Thrower. In the EXP patch notes, we mistakenly added a note about the Hookrat now having a spawn sound. This was a miscommunication, so, sorry for that.

Last but not least, we've taken another pass over the end events for the levels noted in the list below. Whilst the patch notes remain the same as from EXP, they have been futher tuned to be somewhere between what was seen on the test build, and the previously live version of the game. Keep that feedback coming, and we'll adjust where needs be going forward.

Once more, thank you for your participation!

Originally posted by Adelion: Also interested to see the current adjustment of the ending events. Hope it doesnt mean that they have been nerfed even more than in the beta. Although I admit tweaks on Convocation and Righteous stand may be welcome.
This would be how we'd describe the differences between EXP and the now live version:

Slightly retuned the difficulty to end events for the following missions:
  • Convocation of Decay - Reduced grace time between waves, slightly increased special spawns that were heavily reduced in the experimental beta
  • The Screaming Bell - Re-enabled elites mixing into the waves on higher difficulties
  • Fort Barkenbörken - Plague Monks are back in force.
  • Righteous Stand - Tweaked special spawn rates of the end event.

Can you take a note that not always making a constantly sneaking enemy behind or spawning next to you or on top of you enemy is a good way to make game harder? For example: enemies that spawn in hordes like the slave rats from the buildings falling or bursting through the ground is cool to see, an enemy that spawn and move as one but in the end are multiple in one is a bad thing, i also like to see more challenge during the cataclysm by having bigger hordes more chaotic spawn on everything, etc.. Enemies that spawn whenever you turn your back on an edge or a corner is not a good idea in terms of making the game hard. I believe the game can be better. End events never were any challenge but the game is still spin 360* non stop and hit the LMB for some ppl which is bad in my opinion.
Have you tried playing in this patch, either on EXP or now live?

Quick question, has Garden of Morr been retuned from the beta branch? I'd say the state of the event would've been perfect if there was any amount of constant spawning besides the triggers of the chains breaking. It felt sort of weird how if you killed everything and then took your time to break another chain, nothing would spawn.
The balance of Garden of Morr remains unchanged from the EXP test, I believe.
