[2020] Why do we not have the weave weapon skins in standard matchmaking?

Can we get an explanation on why its so hard to enable weave weapon skins for standard matchmaking? We are now into season 3 of weaves, also nearing a year since the WOM release and we are still completely in the dark on their status.
