[2020] Some noob questions on VT1

Not particularly, but worth exploring the various weapons, you might find a combo you like!
First off you'll unlock trinket slots and ~~Keep~~ Inn features like the Forge. It also gives you bits of loot that you may like, or can use to craft new ones in the aforementioned Forge. Once you've unlocked that stuff, it just becomes a marker of the hours you've played.

Mostly just increases the variety of maps. The map packs do come with new weapons to find as well. If you have friends who own the DLC though, you can play the maps for free if they host them and still have (if my dusty memory serves!) a chance at the DLC weapon(s) on the dice game at the end a successful DLC map run.
