We were in charge of (temporarily?) unsanctioning the mod as it didn't work with the latest update. We could keep it in, and when it doesn't work, this thread changes to "why doesn't that mod work?!" from "Why remove it". Either way, end result is the same -- it just didn't work with the latest patch.

A lot of what's in that mod can be found in the vanilla Gamepad UI which is toggleable in the game options, and will likely one day become the primary (perhaps only) UI in the game.

I do like the standard UI a lot more, but it's understandable if the controller one ends up being the more popular choice overall.
It's not about popularity per se, but more time management. Unifying the interfaces in to one will result in a lot (and I mean a lot) less duplicated effort in developing each and every change or update to the interface twice, once for the KB/M interface and once for Gamepad. Thus, ultimately, we'd like to (at some point) unify these interfaces in to one so that time and resource can be spent elsewhere.
