76 years ago, production of the Seafire F Mk XVII began. This variant featured a significantly improved undercarriage for carrier operations which also allowed it to carry more fuel and ordnance. In May 1942, 81 years ago, the M4A1 Sherman appeared for the first time. The M4A1 was a main production variant, having over 6,000 built for the U.S. Army.
