How far does the game let projectiles fly?

Shells do not disappear in WT with the distance. You can follow the shell in replay until it hit something (or fall on the ground) or fly outside map.

WT's record last year was CV 90105, a plane shot down just under 14km. This is information reported by Gaijin himself.

I am not sure sure if you are aware how huge are WT maps. Jump to Custom Battles, select any ground vehicle map and jump into an aircraft. All you can see is in range of projectiles (if they are able to fly far enough).
