81 years ago, the Yer-2 medium bomber undertook its maiden flight. Developed on the basis of a prototype airliner, the Yer-2 saw extensive use during WW2 despite its production being halted for a while. 82 years ago, the SOMUA SAu 40 appeared for the first time. Based on the S35, the SAu 40 mounted a powerful 75 mm APX gun. In 1970, 53 years ago, the Chieftain Mk 5 appeared for the first time. The Mk 5 notably had a better engine, increasing its HP. The UK used and sent Mk 5's to Iran, Jordan, Kuwait and Oman.
