79 years ago, the 1st Marine Tank Battalion received M3A1 Stuart light tanks. They were to replace older M3 models ahead of the invasion of Guadalcanal. The first Crusader Mk III prototype appeared 84 years ago. The Mk III was the first British tank to equip the 6-pounder gun.
