Hi! Thanks for your suggestion, however we don't have plans to implement this sort of thing.
Ground and air trees are separate and these vehicles have their own modes to research with the corresponding vehicle. Helicopters are a little different and are used in Ground battles only, which is why there's an option to use ground vehicles to research them.
