In April, 77 years ago, several Ki-43-II were captured by the US Army. They were repaired, repainted, and evaluated by the Technical Air Intelligence Unit. 80 years ago, the first production model of the M24 Chaffee appeared. Replacing for the outdated M3 and M5 light tanks, the Chaffee entered service late in the war, but went on to serve well into the Cold War.
