Since its founding on July 1st 1926, the Swedish Air Force has been involved in very few conflicts. One squadron of volunteers came to the aid of Finland in the Soviet-Finnish war, but in WWII Sweden remained neutral. Officially, the Swedish Air Force took part in battles only during the Congolese crisis in 1961-1964, and in 2011 they patrolled the skies over Libya.
