A lil somethin somethin: You can find the details for this event on the announcement page here.

Today, we’ll be going over the bug fixes and improvements that we’ve made to the game over the past 2 weeks. Let’s take a look!

Have feedback? Feel free to leave it in this thread here or in the comments of this news post!

If you’ve found a bug that you’d like to report, you can do so on our community bug reporting platform[community.gaijin.net].

Countermeasures that divert missiles
Players reported strange behavior with laser-guided or semi-automatic missiles. They’d lose control if the vehicle that fired them began firing flares or chaff. This bug rendered many popular ATGMs useless if the helicopter that fired them was forced to use countermeasures to escape return fire. It has now been fixed.

Damage to helicopter avionics Thanks to player feedback and collected statistics, we’ve found out that the chance of damage to avionics in helicopters that had not yet received detailed internal modules when the fuselage was damaged was too high, so we’ve significantly reduced it.

This is how it works! The high explosive impact of ammunition of calibers that are less than 23 mm and the kinetic impact of ammunition of calibers less than 25 mm will not damage helicopter avionics in principle. This does not apply to shells with radio fuzes, which still effectively destroy various elements of avionics. Ammunition of calibers that are less than 30 mm will almost never knock out all the avionics of a helicopter with a single hit.

As more helicopters get additional modules, their damage model will become more realistic. Be sure to stay tuned as we’ll let you know when more helicopters get detailed avionics!

New ground training missions
The list of available training missions is growing. We’ve added tutorials on how to use binoculars, a laser rangefinder and anti-aircraft guided missiles with infrared seekers, both with and without uncaging.

You can launch these missions under Battle > Tutorial from the hangar. Laser rangefinder training is also available from the vehicle modification research window when you open the corresponding modification there.

That’s not all! You can find the full list of improvements in separate changelogs! Here’s some more: the J-10A received an additional 800 liter drop-tank, which doesn’t replace missiles, the sounds of fires no longer resemble engine sounds, and the aircraft available for research now again display the button for selecting secondary weapons for a test flight.

Today's update: Update 2.39.0.53
Ground Vehicles
  • New ground training missions have been added that allow you to familiarize yourself with weapons and equipment:
    • Laser rangefinder;
    • SAM with IR seeker with uncaging;
    • SAM with IR seeker without uncaging;
    • Binoculars.
  • These new training missions can be found under Battles > Tutorial from the hangar. The laser rangefinder mission can also be launched after receiving this modification via the vehicle modification window.
  • Dispersion fields from secondary fragments in AP caliber shells[wiki.warthunder.com] — the armor penetration of secondary fragments when a shell penetrates at the limits of its armor-piercing capabilities (for example, when a shell penetrates 284 mm of armor when its penetration capability is 286 mm penetration) has been increased. This means that in these cases secondary fragments will now penetrate more inside a tank and do more damage.
  • Following the Roadmap: armor-piercing high-explosive (APHE) shells — the warhead now remains intact after the shell explodes, provided that the mass of the explosive is less than 1.33% of the mass of the shell. This means that in these cases, the warhead will now act as a mini-AP round inside the tank after the initial shell penetrates the armor.
  • M830A1 — flight time until self-destruction has been increased from 6 to 9 seconds. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • MIM146, RB 70 Mk.2, BOLIDE — a bug that caused the armor penetration on non-normal angles to be lower than it should have been has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • Spike LR2 missile — armor penetration has been increased from 700 to 900 mm. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • DKY-1, DTB-1, DTB12-125, 57х438 HE-VT, OTO HE-VT, 76/62 HE-MOM, kulsgr m/90, slsgr m/484, M822, XM884, M830A1, 3UO8 — the arming distance of the radio fuze has been decreased to 200m.
  • OR-281U, BR-281U, BR-281SP, DKY-1 — external ballistics have been corrected.

  • Type 16 (P) — wheel texture has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
Aircraft
  • J-10A — an additional 800 liter drop-tank under the fuselage has been added. The underwing drop-tanks have been replaced from 800 liters to 1600 liters.
  • A-7K — RWR has been changed from AN/APR-36 to AN/ALR-46. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).

  • A-7D — RWR has been changed from AN/APR-36 to AN/ALR-46(V). (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
    Sources: A-7D Corsair II SAC — December 1986, T.O. 1A-7D-2-1, 1st May 1991.
  • MiG-21 “Lazur-M” — a bug that caused the drop-tanks to be missing in X-ray view has been fixed.
Naval Vessels
  • Letuchiy — a bug where the 40 mm guns under AI control did not open fire on air targets has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • HMS Barham — a bug where the AI-controlled secondary 152 mm guns attempted to fire at air targets has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • IJN Myoko — a bug where the displayed in X-ray view reload time of the secondary 127 mm guns was underestimated, since it took into account the presence of a first shot stowage, which this ship does not have has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
Locations
  • Incorrectly located bushes and small trees have been removed from the roads on the Poland map.
Interface
  • A bug where the button to select secondary weapons didn’t display when doing a test flight for aircraft that are available to be researched has been fixed.
  • A bug where it was not possible to create custom sights for tanks at ranks that were not unlocked yet has been fixed. (Report[community.gaijin.net]).
  • A bug where it was not possible to move the second to last crew slot to the last position in the crew list has been fixed.
Sound
  • CV9030FIN, CV9035DK, CV9035NL — have been given their own Scania V8 engine sound.
  • Su-24M’s GSh-6-23 cannon — has been given its own firing sound.
  • Ratel ZT3A2’s ATGM — has been given its own firing sound.
  • A bug where bomb whistling sounds would sometimes not be heard by players on the ground in the impact zone has been fixed.
  • A bug where nuclear strike warning siren sounds were sometimes not heard has been fixed.
  • Fire sounds have been changed so that they don’t sound like tank or aircraft engines.
Patch notes reflect only key changes, meaning they may not include a complete list of all improvements made. Additionally, War Thunder is constantly being updated and some changes may not require an update. Changes reflected in patch notes are formed by taking reactions and requests of the community from the bug reporting service[//], forums and other official platforms into account. Bug fixes and changes are implemented in order of importance, for example a game-breaking bug will be worked on and implemented sooner.
