The Yak 9 made its maiden flight 78 years ago. The Yak 9 was maneuverable and had high speeds at low to medium altitudes. In early 1942, 81 years ago, the Handley Page Hampden TB Mk.I made its first flight. The Hampden was a pre-war bomber and when WW2 had started, was almost obsolete.
