Widely regarded as the best flying boat of WWII, this whale of a plane was deeply respected by Allied crews for its powerful defensive armament. The I-15 WR first flew in 1933. The I-15 WR was an attempt to create a development of the I-5 fighter but with better aerodynamics without significantly changing the aircraft's size.
