In August 1943, 77 years ago, the F4U-1C Corsair made its first flight. The 1C, a converted 1A, was fitted with 4 x 20 mm guns. In 1984, 37 years ago, the IPM1 Abrams appeared for the first time. The "Improved Performance" M1 derived from upgrading standard M1's whilst the Army were waiting for the new M1A1.
