Hotfix 12.4.5

Additions: - Rewards for Tethra’s Doom added to build, to be deployed shortly. All leftover Tethra Event Cipher components/keys/blueprints can be sold for Credits.

Changes:

Frost Changes:

Using a combination of ideas from the community and discussions between dev, Frost’s Snowglobe has changed. The changes are:

  • Snowglobe’s health is now affected by a Warframe’s Armor value.

  • There is now a temporary invulnerability duration determined by the rank of a given Snowglobe Mod.

  • Snowglobe’s health is increased by the amount of damage received in the “Invulnerability Duration” window.

The numerical details are as follows:

Unranked Snowglobe: Health = 1500 + Invulnerability Duration = 1 second

Rank 1 Snowglobe: Health = 2500 + Invulnerability Duration = 2 seconds

Rank 2 Snowglobe: Health = 3000 + Invulnerability Duration = 3 seconds

Rank 3 Snowglobe: Health = 3500 + Invulnerability Duration = 4 seconds Snowglobe Health = Health + (Armor x 5)

These improvements are subject to change, let us know what you think!

  • Selling items from the Arsenal's Inventory page now displays a full graphical manifest of all selected items before confirming sale.
  • Toned down flashing FX when light traps disintegrate in Grineer tilesets.
  • Reduced broken light damage by half.
  • Limited ability to post messages in trade chat to once every 2 minutes to reduce channel spamming.
  • Optimizations to Forest tileset to improve frame rate
  • Improved audio mixing for Zephyr's Turbulence.

Fixes:

  • Fixed overly harsh Interception mode difficulty on Earth nodes (this was only meant to be applied to the Tethra's Doom mission).

  • Fixed intermittent hang when launching Survival missions on Earth .

  • Fixed clients being able to repeatedly hack Moa Cabinets to produce a flash mob of ally bipeds.

  • Fixed inability to fire Grinlok or throw Castanas and while sprinting.

  • Fixed clients immediately spawning in the middle of an active match when joining a Conclave arenas.

  • Fixed Banshee's Sonar effects lingering after enemies have been killed.

  • Fixed another case where a player could become stuck in Survival mode if oxygen supply ran out while they were activating a life support capsule.

  • Fixed Rescue missions in Grineer Galleon and Desert containing multiple hostages.

  • Fixed issues with Nova and Zephyr ability descriptions.

  • Fixed gameplay crashes.

I began to play this game in April last year and this is the first update where I can say that I was actually disappointed with DE. However, I jumped to conclusions and after testing the latest patch, I can say things have changed for the better here.

Snow Globe:

The issue isn't HP, the issue is that IT.DOES.NOT.SCALE. We've debated this on the forums and everybody knows that low to mid tier players have a functioning Snow Globe but that T2/T3 defense players along with high level defense players regard Snow Globe as useless as it dies in one or two seconds. See edit below

Grineer lights:

They're were unavoidable, too numerous and would one-shot low level frames in one hit and didn't hit enemies. They didn't make sense lore-wise or game mechanic wise. Cutting damage in half is not going to fix these issues since the lights don't add any difficulty or challenge, only tedium. I'm hoping DE forgot to mention other changes to these lights, because if the only change is to cut their HP damage in half and reduce some GFX, I'm not going to be a happy player.

I'm going to take the game for a spin tonight, but if things are as before with the lights, I might actually take a longer timeout until DE fixes this since the lights seriously piss me off right now.

Edit: Also, once again I'm reminded that Rhino/Valkyr/Trinity players aren't affected of the lights due to their invulnerability. So I guess that until next week, I'll be playing those three instead.

Edit: Corrected wording. Also, to those that are downvoting me, please reply with a comment as well why. This isn't r/gaming is it?

Edit3: THE EDITNING: After testing with a less than optimal build of both Frost and Nova (since I couldn't actually get more clan mates to jump on this tonight), it's very clear that even with a shitty situation like this, Snow Globe has become VIABLE at least for T2/T3 defense. Our Frost saw times between 11-18 seconds of duration which is INSANELY good considering we both accidentally brought shitty weapons, forgot ammo caches and whatnot. With good setups and weapons, we're definitely going to be seeing around 19-20 seconds which absolutely works here. It's a bit annoying though that I can't actually test really high level defense tonight, but since most of my team-mates are AFK, that'll have to wait. Hopefully someone else can try this out and offer feedback on this.

Broken lights: Visual FX is toned down a lot which is very good. However, even though I tried to keep an eye out, I was still experiencing the same as before, when I saw them, it was usually too late or they were obscured. Additionally, they're too numerous right now, but as DE_Steve said they're still working on it, this is a good step on the way!

Time the deploy so that invuln phase is getting attacked - this converts back to health which can (mathy math) double your invuln time at any level. This is scaling IMO.

The lights are supposed to be Grineer traps. They suck that they are hidden and that will be fixed. We blew the rollout of this but the intent is to add more dangers and game mechanics to levels overtime. This one is fail.
