A few months ago I set up the two factor authentication using the Google authenticator for my Warframe account to make it for secure and all, which is a good thing -- I also have this on a number of accounts. However, on Monday I bought a new phone. I was going through all the things to do when you get a new phone, transfering data, contacts, etc. Untill I came to my Google authenticator app. I transferred my Google code over, for my ea origin account, my faceit account, blablabla then I came to Warframe, which was last in line. However, on my Warframe profile on their website there is NO option to remove the two factor authentication so I can reenable it for my new phone -- like you have to do it for everyone else!

I contacted the support about it. This is their answer!

Rant! There is NO way of transferring the mobile authentication to a new device!!! I was about to sell my old phone, for which I would be getting over 200€!!! Now I have to keep it throw away the money, just because DE doesn't allow to remove the two factor authentication once you have set it up!!! I mean seriously, what is the point?!?! Does DE expect us to keep the device we set the two factor authentication up forever!?!? I am playing this game for about 4.5 years and with all the questionable decision DE I have always stayed with them and came more or less around to accept them, but this is UNACCEPTABLE!!! Rant end!

They instantly closed the support ticket, but I opened it to get more answers.

Edit: so apparently the Warframe account and Warframe forum account are two separate identities if I understand it correctly and the Google authentication code was for the forum and there you can disable it to reenable it for a new device. Confusing as hell but at least it's solved now

Perhaps I'm misunderstanding, but we don't support Google Authenticator. Could you expand on how you set up 2fA using the Google Authenticator for your Warframe account?
