While we are calling this a hotfix, it is actually a small CERT update (learn more about what that means here). Depending on your Automatic App Update preferences, you may need to manually update the app.
This is our first CERT update following our move to focus on early game technical issues. As such, the changes present in this update are intended to improve performance and ease of use with touch controls. Please read [DE]Steve’s June Update for more information about our Mobile plans.
Fixes
-
Reduced crashes occurring in Open World areas and Railjack, particularly on iPhone 13 and later devices.
- If you are still experiencing crashes in these areas or elsewhere, sharing your game logs with us is extremely helpful. Here's how to save & send error logs to Digital Extremes so that we may investigate.
- We continue to make progress in reducing crashes and thank you for your patience!
Changes
-
Changed the default Video settings from Medium to Low for all iPhone/iPad models.
- Players can adjust their video / graphics settings to their liking by going into the Video Settings in Options.
-
Aim Assist is now set to 100% by default in the interest of assisting touch control players
- Previously, Aim Assist was set to 70% by default.
- Players can adjust their Aim Assist preferences, or disable entirely, by going into the Accessibility Settings in Options.
-
Decreased the distance a touch control user must drag their finger to transition into a sprint on iPad.
- Based on player feedback, we made it so that going from slow to fast movement requires less “push” on the virtual joystick.
-
Removed the iOS exclusive “Sensor Ring” overlay.
- In [DE]Steve’s Mobile Update post, we shared that we have set our sights on performance improvements. The Sensor Ring overlay, which would give directional indicators for out of frame objects, was contributing to hitching/stuttering. We will keep you informed if/when the Sensor Ring is returning in a more optimized state.
