| 185s | Conquer Cancer kick off stream we are |

| 195s | bananza on Thursday know and we're just |
| 198s | back at it we just can't we can't stop |
| 200s | we just love being here we appreciate |

| 203s | special day because we are kicking off |
| 205s | the whole entire October of quest |
| 207s | Conquer Cancer campaign we have a lot to |
| 209s | go through but before we go through all |
| 213s | of the good stuff that we want to |
| 214s | announce we do have a special guest with |
| 216s | us overvoice uh Steve merker who has |
| 220s | made appearances before on these Quest |
| 222s | To Conquer Cancer streams if you |
| 223s | remember uh he was sat in front of his |
| 226s | fireplace and put on many hats for us |
| 228s | once which was just lovely uh today |
| 231s | we're going to be blessed by his voice |
| 232s | he's the vice president for corporate |
| 233s | and Community Partnerships for the |
| 235s | Princess Margaret and he is here today |

| 244s | doing awesome but you know we got to |

| 248s | you know it does it uh I I like to think |
| 250s | I'm a little bit younger at heart than |
| 252s | that picture but uh yeah and my title |
| 254s | I'm not so fond of that title because |
| 256s | I'm really the the chief guy of fun at |
| 258s | the Princess Margaret I love |
| 261s | that more hats on you yeah well maybe |
| 265s | October 31st your final stream there you |
| 268s | go we'll get that going so what's uh |
| 271s | what's happening over there at the |
| 272s | foundation that uh you'd like our lovely |
| 274s | Warframe Community here to know |
| 276s | about well you know was it two weeks ago |
| 279s | Zach when you and the team came into the |
| 282s | Princess Margaret and Megan I know that |
| 284s | you've been down to visit uh Us in the |
| 287s | past and it was so inspiring to see so |
| 290s | many of your of your teammates come in |
| 292s | and and really understand and learn |
| 294s | about how the money that we're raising |
| 295s | and you guys and your tenno community |
| 298s | have raised almost half a million like |
| 300s | that's a GameChanger for cancer research |
| 302s | at Princess Margaret so it was wonderful |
| 304s | to see your team take the time to learn |
| 306s | more about what's going on here at |
| 308s | Princess Margaret I can't yeah that half |
| 310s | a million when we got that information |
| 313s | was literally mindblowing to us cuz it's |
| 316s | you know it's really impactful every |
| 318s | year to see what you know the community |
| 320s | comes up with and then to have that kind |
| 322s | of full number hit 500,000 is czy is |
| 326s | insane I think we're actually I think |
| 329s | just with the donations we received even |
| 331s | before the campaign started we've hit |
| 334s | over 500,000 now with the number you see |
| 337s | at the top there which is incredible |
| 339s | sorry also hi I'm here Danny's here I'm |
| 342s | also here in the background |
| 344s | hi what a what amazing update like holy |
| 347s | cow you know like over half a million |
| 350s | dollars like that is huge and you know |
| 354s | Zach when you and the and and Danny and |
| 356s | the rest were down you know like there |
| 358s | was there wasn't a PE whole bunch of |
| 360s | people lined up to hand over checks and |
| 362s | money to hand to support the world |
| 364s | leading cancer research despite the fact |
| 366s | that cancer is the number one disease |
| 367s | affecting Canadians so the fact that |
| 370s | your community has stepped up in this |
| 371s | huge way is is so impressive and a |
| 373s | testament to your leadership and and the |
| 376s | community that you built yeah we're |
| 379s | honestly honored to be able to do this |
| 380s | every single year and to you know |
| 382s | physically come and see Princess |
| 385s | Margaret and meet your team uh and just |
| 387s | kind of mingle and then you know |
| 389s | everything we learn from that we bring |
| 391s | to our incredible Community who year |
| 393s | after year just blow it out of the water |
| 396s | and really show that they care for |
| 399s | Princess Margaret and to you know |
| 401s | eradicate cancer in our lifetime because |
| 403s | it is a just awful disease and we're |
| 406s | just so happy for our fourth year to be |
| 408s | back doing it all over again with new |
| 411s | and exciting things to celebrate it's uh |
| 414s | yeah we're just so happy to work with |
| 416s | you |
| 417s | again well I'm so happy to uh be a part |
| 420s | of it all of us at the foundation I know |
| 422s | the researchers and the you know the |
| 424s | scientists who benefit from all the |
| 425s | funds you raise are are really super |
| 428s | happy that you guys are back and if I |
| 429s | can share one quick thing just like |
| 432s | something tangible that people can kind |
| 434s | of take away that uh you know the funds |
| 436s | that you're raising is going towards so |
| 438s | actually maybe a couple of things one of |
| 440s | the things is is uh is that we're |
| 444s | working on a a liquid biopsy test so |
| 446s | it's kind of like a blood test so that |
| 448s | when you go in to see your doctor um |
| 451s | they can detect like early early cancer |
| 454s | of over 50 types of cancer um and when |
| 457s | you catch it early there's so many more |
| 459s | things that you can do and so imagine |
| 461s | just going into your your general |
| 463s | practitioner and you have a blood test |
| 465s | and they say Hey you know I guess you |
| 466s | have you have stage one you know cancer |
| 469s | of the big toe I'm making that one up |
| 470s | but uh imagine that but there's |
| 472s | something they can do about it when they |
| 473s | catch it early so that's one of the |
| 475s | things that we're working on and it's |
| 476s | not just for people who happen to get |
| 477s | treated you know in Toronto that that |
| 480s | kind of Discovery helps you know benefit |
| 482s | all Canadians and people right around |
| 485s | the planet so we collaborate with with |
| 487s | researchers and doctors all over the US |
| 490s | and and around the world so so what |
| 492s | you're doing is is supporting a lot of |
| 494s | uh you know World leading cancer |
| 496s | research that will change the standard |
| 498s | of care for patients |
| 499s | everywhere that's incredible I you know |
| 503s | I think a lot of us have had people |
| 505s | affected by cancer I I can't think of |
| 507s | anyone who hasn't um and to hear about |
| 511s | early detection I know for a lot of |
| 514s | types of cancer that's back in the day |
| 517s | almost impossible right yeah well you |
| 520s | know people didn't even want to say the |
| 521s | c-word like even 30 40 years ago but but |
| 524s | now we do say the the word cancer and |
| 527s | it's because the outcomes are getting so |
| 529s | much better and I'll share I'm I'm sorry |
| 531s | for taking over I'm going to just share |
| 533s | one quick thing with you again which I |
| 535s | shared with Danny when she was here is |
| 537s | you know like women who are diagnosed |
| 538s | with breast cancer like 80 90 years ago |
| 541s | they were given treatment called a |
| 542s | radical masectomy which was so sad it |
| 545s | was so disfiguring but it was the only |
| 547s | thing that that cancer doctors knew what |
| 549s | to do back then and and we look back at |
| 551s | that and say oh my God how barbaric was |
| 554s | that when you had to completely |
| 555s | disfigure a young woman by taking away |
| 557s | her complete breast and her like anyways |
| 560s | it was I don't want to get into details |
| 562s | uh on your stream but uh we look back at |
| 564s | that now and we don't even worry about |
| 566s | that now in fact Dr Vera Peters at |
| 568s | Princess Margaret back in 1940 or 1945 |
| 571s | he was the one that said we got to do |
| 573s | lumpectomies followed by radiation and |
| 575s | it's way less harmful on these young |
| 577s | women who are diagnosed with breast |
| 579s | cancer and the outcomes are actually |
| 581s | better and so we want to we want to look |
| 583s | at chemotherapy that is given to |
| 586s | patients today and and 10 years from now |
| 588s | go oh my God how barbaric was |
| 590s | chemotherapy we you know as you may know |
| 592s | when people are going through chemo they |
| 594s | lose their hair and they get very sick |
| 596s | it's because chemotherapy kills the |
| 598s | cancer sometimes but also kills a lot of |
| 601s | your your healthy cells and and it's not |
| 603s | good so we're using a thing called |
| 604s | immune therapy now which trains your own |
| 606s | body to fight cancer way less harmful on |
| 609s | your on your body and the patients have |
| 611s | much better outcome so that's another |
| 613s | thing we're working on that the funds |
| 614s | you're raising is is going to to to |
| 617s | further that's incredible Steve thank |
| 619s | you so much for sharing that I could |
| 622s | listen to you talk all day about this |
| 624s | even though I know it's sad and uh you |
| 626s | know hits home for I think many of us |
| 628s | but um um thank you so much for always |
| 631s | being so accommodating sharing these um |
| 634s | you know advancements that you're able |
| 637s | to do and you know we just hope that we |
| 640s | help in any way possible with our |
| 642s | campaigns and and thinking of you guys |
| 644s | all year long and and you're just you |
