UPDATE 38: WARFRAME: 1999
The time has come for you to step into Höllvania and meet The Hex, Tenno!
We are thrilled to bring you Warframe: 1999! Our final major update of 2024 is here and it has so much for you to experience and explore.
You’ll start your journey into 1999 with the latest cinematic Quest titled “The Hex” – meet the Protoframes that make up an elite combat unit and join them as the Drifter to track down Albrecht Entrati.
Completing the Quest will grant you access to Höllvania and its many new missions, systems and surprises! Link up with the Protoframes in their Höllvania Central Mall hideout and earn their favor by ranking up in The Hex Syndicate. You can even cozy up to them in a chat system to get to know them more, find lifelong friendships and maybe even date (oh là là!). You can even become them with the Gemini Series Skins! Switch between Warframe and Protoframe counterparts with these customizable and fully voiced skins.
Play Bounties with accompanying Hex members and weave through the festering Techrot and Scaldra barricades on the Atomicycle. Watch as the city changes with the seasons and take your first steps into Höllvania during the Winter with launch! Be sure to bring a Warm Coat, I hear it can be quite nippy this time of year.
Up for some friendly competition? Faceoff against another squad in the new PVPVE game mode, one of the many new missions! Take down an H-09 Efervon Tank in the new Assassination mission, squash the lifeforce of the Techrot in Legacyte Harvest, Exterminate the Scaldra and Techrot, and scrub the city of what plagues it in Hell-Scrub. Our 59th Warframe Cyte-09 is also here, as well as many new weapons, Arcanes, Mods, and so so so much more!
There are almost 70 pages of patch notes ahead of you, Tenno. Read on to learn about all of the above and so much more. Thank you for all of your incredible support and excitement for Warframe: 1999! Enjoy!
Update 38 is a Mainline Update!
Meaning that everything the team has been working on since the launch of Koumei & The Five Fates is in this update (with the obvious exception of content that is not ready to be released). It is very likely, as it is with all Mainline updates, that things slip through the cracks so we will be watching for bug reports and feedback in the dedicated Warframe: 1999 Subforums to address in follow-up Hotfixes.
If any of the terms above are new to you, visit “The Warframe Lexicon for Updates” to learn more about Warframe’s development cycle.
Update Download Size: ~1.53 GB
-
When Warframe updates via the App Store, it must redownload the base install (approximately 3.95GB) which overwrites the previous install. In other words, while CERT updates require a roughly 3.95GB download, these updates are not adding 3.95 GB to your overall app size.
Upon the launch of the update, when you load the Warframe app, you will receive an “Update Available” popup as usual and be redirected to the App Store to do so.
iOS Specific Notes:
iOS Changes
-
Updated Aim Assist based on player feedback and internal testing!
-
When not aiming down sight:
- Previously, the aim reticle would stick to enemies a little bit, but only after you hover over them.
- Now, the aim reticle moves onto the enemy like magnetism, if you are looking relatively close to them.
-
While aim gliding:
- Aim Assist while aim gliding has been made much stronger.
- Previously, aiming mid-air was challenging on touch controls even with Aim Assist. The additional ‘magnetic’ strength makes this parkour move far more viable on mobile!
-
When not aiming down sight:
-
In light of these changes, Aim Assist preferences have been reset to 50% by default for all players.
- As always, Aim Assist can be strengthened, weakened, disabled/enabled in t he Accessibility Settings based on your preferences!
-
Updated the Foundry screen on iOS with mobile usability in mind.
-
Previously, the iOS Foundry screen matched that of its PC and console counterparts. It has been reworked slightly to accommodate touch based gameplay on smaller screens:
- Increased the size of category icons and sorting options.
- Added a popup box displaying the build requirements for crafting an item.
- Applied a more mobile-friendly layout to the Foundry page, with a wide aspect ratio meant to accommodate mobile screens.
-
Previously, the iOS Foundry screen matched that of its PC and console counterparts. It has been reworked slightly to accommodate touch based gameplay on smaller screens:
- Slightly increased the Objective/ Target Markers size on all screens for improved visibility.
- Added an iOS Exclusive loading screen tip reminding players that Warframe on Mobile can be played with a controller in addition to touch controls.
- Changed the “Reverb Quality” Audio setting toggle to “Enable Reverb” to better match what the setting actually does.
- Reduced long hitch when entering Arsenal, Market and Player Profiles on iOS.
- Made modest optimizations to preprocessing shaders on iOS.
iOS Fixes:
- Fixed being unable to overcharge the Drifter’s Sirocco weapon in The New War quest with Touch Controls.
- Fixed Auto Fire applying to Codex and Synthesis Scanners. Previously, the Scanner would begin automatically scanning when pointed at any interactive object.
- Fixed touch controls allowing Mesa to move during her Peacemaker Ability.
- Fixed controller bindings appearing in the “Ability Unlocked” popup instead of touch controls while using them.
- Fixed the Customize UI Layout showing the “Tactical Menu” button for Railjack gameplay in the General Layout screen.
- Fixed the “Configure” option in Teshin’s Cave sometimes being unresponsive.
- Fixed the top portion of a Mod’s image being cut off in the Mod Fusion screen.
- Fixed Exodia Contagion not unleashing projectiles, but instead triggering a ground slam attack while using touch controls.
- Fixed Auto Fire not recognizing the target objects in Sabotage Missions.
- Fixed an Auto Melee error in the Eris Oestrus mission where the purifier and console were being identified as loot containers. This caused Auto Melee to recognize them as attack targets.
- Fixed the touch control weapon HUD being visible in Relays.
- Fixed staggered movement after switching from touch controls to a gamepad setup while downed.
- Fixed UI elements like the mini map and chat buttons remaining on screen during quick action prompts (sequences requiring repeated taps or continued hold to progress).
- Fixed a bug where touch control players could be shown the HUD for stationary turrets and other stationary weapons at times when they were not being used.
- Fixed loss of touch control functionality when transitioning between an Open Landscape and town.
- Fixed the Customize UI Layout screen missing a confirmation prompt when exiting the Customize UI Layout screen.
- Fixed Incarnon Weapons displaying the Secondary Fire Button when their Alt Fire abilities had not yet been unlocked.
- Fixed Railjack’s Forward Artillery missing a “Switch Weapons” button when using touch controls.
-
Fixed an issue where dying while customizing touch control layout would cause a total loss of function.

QUALITY OF LIFE CHANGES
New Player Experience Improvements
More Starter Slots!
Throughout the New Player Experience improvements we’ve made this year, the biggest point of feedback we’ve received is to increase the starting Weapon and Warframe Slots amounts. So we’ve done just that!
New players will now start with more Slots:
- Weapon Slots: Increased from 8 to 11
- Warframe Slots: Increased from 2 to 3
If you’re an existing player, these additional Warframe (1) and Weapon Slots (3) will be delivered to you via inbox message on log in!
Mercury and Mars Junction Rewards
The Mercury and Mars Junctions will now reward a fully-built Boltor and Fragor respectively, instead of the Blueprints!
- Players who have completed these Junctions will also receive said items via the Slots inbox message above.
Mastery Rank Test Changes
Mastery Rank Tests no longer make you wait 24 hours upon failing an attempt – meaning you can continue with Mastery Rank test attempts until you succeed. The cooldown timer remains for successful attempts, but we’ve reduced it from 24 to 23 hours.
We’ve also changed the Mastery Rank test “Practice” prompt in Cephalon Simaris’ Relay Room to “Replay”.
- Since you can attempt without a time penalty, there is no real need to practice ahead of time. However, tests remain available to replay in case you would like to revisit them for old time sake.
- Upcoming Mastery Rank tests will now indicate the amount of Mastery XP required to access it.
Nyx & Trinity Rework Forma Inbox
Login starting today @ 9:30 AM ET until April 13, 2025 to receive 2 built Forma via inbox message.
We go into the full details on Nyx & Trinity’s rework in the dedicated section, but this Forma can be used (at your discretion) to experiment with the changes we’ve made!
Unreal Tournament Weapon Skins Inbox
From now until December 23rd @ 2 PM ET, login to receive the Drakgoon Flak Cannon Skin, Ogris Rocket Launcher Skin and Stahlta Shock Rifle Skin.
After December 23rd, you’ll be able to acquire these skins from the in-game Market for 1 Credit. If you do not own the Drakgoon, Ogris and/or Stahlta these skins will still be in your inventory to equip them once you do.
NEW CINEMATIC QUEST: THE HEX
The desperate hunt for Albrecht Entrati has led the Drifter to the city of Höllvania on December 31st, 1999. Despite the Scaldra lockdown in the face of the Techrot menace, the citizens do their best to celebrate. But this has all happened before… and ended in disaster.
The Hex is a solo quest experience!
Spoiler Courtesy
The quest and the content that follows it has significant Spoilers for Warframe and its future. Please let all Tenno experience it at their own pace, and be kind. Use spoiler tags liberally if you wish to talk about it to avoid ruining the experience for someone else (read more on that here). Content Creators should clearly label spoiler content and use spoiler-free thumbnails.

You can also change your Loadout directly from the NavNow screen before hitting the streets!
1999 Calendar
With the Scaldra breathing down your neck, 1999 is panning out to be a busy year. Thankfully, your personal computer is fully equipped with a digital 1999 Calendar to keep you busy!
Note: Images of the 1999 Calendar that we’ve provided below are for example purposes! Since the system is randomized, your own experience will likely be different from what you see in these screenshots.
The 1999 Calendar system has the following events for you to partake in that we’ll cover in detail below!
- Completing To Dos (challenges)
- Selecting Prizes (rewards)
- Selecting Hex Overrides (upgrades)
- Celebrating Hex birthdays
Seasons Cycle
The passing of time in Höllvania is measured by the four seasons. The season indicated in the 1999 Calendar is global for all players, so if it is Winter for you it is Winter for all. You will also experience the season indicated in the 1999 Calendar while exploring Höllvania.
Each season lasts a week of real-world time (changing on Monday 0:00 UTC), meaning you have 7 days to complete the To Dos, and collect Prizes and Hex Overrides each season.
The first full season cycle will occur on the following real-world dates:
-
Winter: December 13, 2024 - December 22, 2024
- Since we’ve launched the update on a Friday, we extended the first 1999 Winter season until December 22 instead of on the upcoming weekly reset. This is so that you have 10 days to interact with the 1999 Winter season instead of only 3! Season changes afterwards will resume on the usual weekly reset on Monday 0:00 UTC.
- Spring: December 22, 2024 - December 29, 2024
- Summer: December 29, 2024 - January 5, 2025
- Autumn: January 5, 2025 - January 12, 2025
Each season contains 3 months, each with their own To Dos, prizes and Hex Overrides:
- Winter: January, February, and March
- Spring: April, May, and June
- Summer: July, August, and September
- Autumn: October, November, and December
How To Progress In 1999 Calendar
Progressing through each month is simple! Complete the events marked in the 1999 Calendar in the order that they appear.
Events in the 1999 Calendar reset when the season changes on Monday 0:00 UTC.
- Reminder that we have extended the first 1999 Winter season to December 22 so that you have 10 real-world days instead of 3 to complete the Winter events in the 1999 Calendar.
Your progress through the month is marked in grey to indicate completed events. Whatever day is up next for you to complete is highlighted in green.
You can select any day on the 1999 Calendar, regardless of your progress, to read the details of a To Do, Prize, Hex Overrides and Birthdays. You can also view each month in a season by selecting the small calendar icons in the top right. These icons will also have a checkmark once you have completed all the events in that particular month.
There are no restrictions to the number of 1999 Calendar events you can complete in a real-world day. Help is hard to come by in Höllvania, so The Hex will take all they can get!
To Dos
To Dos in the 1999 Calendar are tasks needing to be completed specifically in Höllvania missions. They are indicated by the clipboard icon. Each month in a season has two To Dos.
To Dos change with the season upon weekly reset (Monday at 0:00 UTC). Those you have not completed before then will not have their progress carried over into the next season, as a new season means a new batch of To Dos!
Since you must complete events in the 1999 Calendar in order, you can only make progress on a To Do if it is highlighted in green. In other words, you can only make progress on one To Do at a time!
If a season change occurs while you are in a mission and you had a To Do active from the previous season it can still be completed within that mission. However, it will only reward you with Affinity and not progress in the 1999 Calendar, as the season it was in has been rotated out.
While there is a Hex member in the To Do descriptions, completing To Dos will not give Chemistry with the character shown. Learn more about the Romance & Relationship System in its dedicated section.
You can view your To Do progress in-mission by opening the Pause Menu, selecting “Challenges” and then the “To Do” tab.
Prizes
Prizes in the 1999 Calendar are well… Rewards! They are indicated by the gift box icon. There are 2 Prizes to select in each month, for a total of 6 per season.
Prizes change with the season on Mondays 0:00 UTC. So be sure to select your Prizes before the reset occurs, as a new season means a new batch of Prizes to claim!
The Prizes that are available each month are randomly generated! They range from a list of goods including:
-

Hex Overrides
Hex Overrides are upgrades that only apply to you in Höllvania missions. They are indicated by the wrench icon. You can select 1 Hex Override per month, for a total of 3 per season.
Hex Overrides that you select remain in effect for the full duration of the 1999 Calendar. Meaning you will retain their benefits across seasons, until you reach the New Year in 1999. Once Winter 1999 arrives again, you’ll have to select your Overrides anew.
You can view your active Hex Overrides by selecting the “Upgrades” button at the top far right of the Calendar.
There are two types of Hex Overrides: Hex Boosts and Hex Factors!
Hex Boosts are passive stat buffs.
- For example: Arthur’s “No Quarter” is a Hex Boost that increases Melee Attack Speed.
- Certain Hex Boosts can be selected more than once to stack its effects.
Hex Factors are active effects.
- For example: Amir’s “Dynamo Jump” is a Hex Factor that temporarily grants Electricity Damage on performing a bullet jump.
While Hex Overrides are assigned to specific Hex members, they do not grant you Chemistry with them. Learn more about the Romance & Relationship System in its dedicated section.
Hex Birthdays
Days marked with a cake icon indicate a Hex member’s birthday! This means you can also find out what their astrological signs are, which actually might explain a lot…
You can choose to celebrate or not (ouch!), by sending them a message for an additional chance to increase your Chemistry with them. (Note: you can only send them b-day wishes if you’ve chatted with them before, so be sure to hit them up on KIM!).
Learn more about Chemistry and the Romance & Relationship system as a whole in the dedicated section.
KIM: Romance & Relationship System
The folks over at Kinemantik are bringing us innovations worthy of the next millennium: now you can chat with your friends instantly via the Kinemantik Instant Messenger (KIM)! Boot up your Pom-2 and open up KIM to LOL the night away with your homies.
The raddest part of KIM? It lets you connect with The Hex like never before via the new Romance & Relationship System. Whether you want to delve deeper into the lore of Höllvania, connect with your favourite Protoframe, or maybe find someone to share a kiss with on New Year’s Eve, how you engage with this feature is up to you.
Note: While romance is completely optional, players will need to be Liked by all Protoframes to unlock Rank 4 of The Hex Syndicate.
Interacting with the Romance & Relationship System allows you to learn more about each Hex member, and increase your Chemistry.
Players can increase their Chemistry by chatting, gifting, and running Bounties with each Protoframe. In order to start earning Chemistry, you will need to complete the introductory conversation with the Hex member you are interested in via the Kinetik Messaging System in your Pom-2. You can’t forge a bond if they don’t even know you, y’know? If you don’t know, we recommend asking Loid what “parasocial” means.
In the meantime, let’s go over how to increase your Chemistry.
Chatting
Head to the Pom-2 PC in your Orbiter and select the messaging icon to access KIM. Each Hex member has a profile that displays what you know about them, their birthdays, and your current Chemistry rank with them.
In this state-of-the-art interface, you can chat with each Protoframe once per day (resetting at 0:00 UTC). Look for the KIM notification icon on your Pom-2 PC (when in the Orbiter) to see if you have messages waiting for you! These conversations not only let you learn more about the Hex, but can also increase your Chemistry if you play your cards right. Chemistry increases are often marked by glimmering gold text, but not all Chemistry-increasing messages will be marked this way — sometimes the conversation is a little too serious for sparkles.
On the note of serious conversations, discussions with Protoframes may veer into sensitive topics like mental health, loss, war, and more.
Gifting
KIM’s latest feature, DIRECTGIFTZ, gives you the option to send Hex members gifts! Exchange your Höllars for items you think each Protoframe would like, and they’ll be delivered in a revolutionary 1-2 business days*. Each item has a limited number of stock per Protoframe, so choose your presents wisely.
You can send one gift per day per Hex member, again resetting at 00:00 UTC. If you sent an item that the Hex member likes, the Chemistry gain will be reflected in the “Gift Sent” screen. Each Protoframe likes different things, so pay attention to their Profile and pick your gifts wisely!
*Gifts are delivered instantly, you don’t actually have to wait 1-2 days to see your Chemistry increase.
Bounties
Each Bounty in Höllvania Central Mall has a randomly-assigned Hex member! Play the Bounty to have the selected Protoframe join you in-mission and earn a once-per-day Chemistry gain with that character (provided you have completed their introductory conversation on KIM*).
The amount of Chemistry earned does not scale with Bounty difficulty like Standing — it’s a flat value that does not change. Like Chatting and Gifting, your ability to earn Chemistry from Bounties resets at 0:00 UTC.
* If you have not completed this conversation for the Hex member assigned to your Bounty, this will be indicated in the End of Mission screen.
The assignments change with each Bounty rotation so that you can continue to play with your faves in a variety of game modes — however, Hex members will never be assigned to a mission if they provide the transmissions for it.
Chemistry
As you increase your Chemistry with the Hex, you’ll see their Chemistry status change in their KIM Profile. Chemistry ranks are as follows:
- Neutral
- Friendly
- Liked
- Trusted
- Close
- Best Friends / Loved (depending on relationship status)
Increasing your Chemistry rank unlocks more personal conversation options and the ability to date the Hex member, should you wish to. Being Liked is required to reach max rank in the Hex Syndicate, but romance is completely optional!
Maximizing your Daily Chemistry Gains:
To recap the sections above, you have three ways to increase your Chemistry with Protoframes each day. The following options reset at 0:00 UTC daily.
-
Gifting: once per day per Hex
- Depending on your Gift choice, Chemistry increases are not guaranteed.
-
Chatting on KIM: once per day per Hex
- Depending on how the conversation goes, Chemistry increases are always not guaranteed.
- NOTE: Glimmering text can indicate a Chemistry increase, but it is not always indicated in all conversations for the sake of tone.
-
Bounties: once per day per Hex
- Chemistry gains are guaranteed!
There is no way to lose Chemistry with a Hex member, so if you give them the wrong Gift or get on their bad side when chatting, it won’t reduce your Chemistry rank.
KIM Profile:
Selecting a Hex member on the KIM screen will show you their actual name, their Birthday, and your current Chemistry rank (listed above). As you continue to chat with Protoframes on KIM, you’ll also see notes added to their profile indicating what you have learned about them thus-far. These will help you with conversation decisions (if you’re looking to find the *perfect* response) and gifting!
Birthday Messages:
As mentioned in the “1999 Calendar” section, players can send Hex a special message on their birthdays! You can see each character’s birthday in their KIM profile, or by scrolling through the months of the current season in the 1999 Calendar screen on your Pom-2.
Dating
After reaching a high enough Chemistry rank* (it varies per Hex member), you’ll be presented with an additional dating dialogue option when visiting them in Höllvania Central Mall. Romantic entanglements are completely optional — if you prefer to keep things platonic, it will not hinder your Chemistry progress with them!
* If your preferred method of flirting involves being overly antagonistic or dismissive, it is possible that the Hex member will not want to date you. Should this happen, you will not be permanently locked out of dating them (see the “Starting Over” section below), but we recommend re-evaluating your courting methods if you give them another try.
You can only date one Hex member at a time, so if another Protoframe catches your eye, you will have to break up with your current partner before moving on to someone else. Similar to dating, the Break Up dialogue can be initiated in the Höllvania Central Mall. Upon ending a relationship, you may or may not be able to get back with that person depending on their personality. Breaking hearts is risky business after all.
It is possible to start or end a relationship via KIM conversations, but romantic whims can be unpredictable, so we recommend visiting the Mall if you’re certain you want to move forward.
Smoochin’
If you're dating a Protoframe when the 1999 Calendar Year rolls over, then you’ll share a New Year’s Kiss! The kiss occurs on New Years Eve in the 1999 Calendar year — ie. once the full season cycle has concluded, meaning the first opportunity for a kiss will occur January 12th, 2025 at 0:00 UTC. For more information on the Calendar system, check out the “1999 Calendar” section.
Starting Over
Warframe is a live-service game, meaning there’s no way to reload a save to retread other response options in your conversations. For those who are invested in exploring all of the dialogue options, we are offering a way to reset your progress once the 1999 Calendar year has rolled over once a month.
Doing so will completely wipe all conversation history and Chemistry you have with ALL Hex members.
NOTE: This does not affect your Standing in the Hex Syndicate or your conversations in the Hex group chat.
NEW TILESET: HÖLLVANIA
Ravaged by the Techrot crisis, Höllvania has been transformed. The once bustling city streets have been reduced to rubble or overrun by Infested biomass. If you hope to survive in 1999, you must traverse this new environment and discover the secrets buried beneath it.
Seasons
Experience Winter, Spring, Summer and Autumn in Höllvania! Witness the city transform from season to season, a repetitive cycle that begins in Winter 1999. Weather the elements and the escalating Techrot threat with the passing of each season.
You can check which season it is in Höllvania in the 1999 Calendar in the Pom-2 PC.
Winter
Spring
Summer
Autumn
Techrot Safes
Techrot Safes are safety deposit boxes from a time before the Techrot took over. They can be found throughout Höllvania and will be marked with a special waypoint if you are nearby, similar to Melica Caches in the Zariman Ten Zero.
A Biocode is required to unlock it – find one and bring it to a Techrot Cache to retrieve the contents within it!
Unlocking one will reward you with the following:
- Höllars (learn more in the next section)
- One of the new Arcanes (learn more in the dedicated “New Arcanes” section)
- One Hex Treasure (learn more in the dedicated “Hex Treasures" section)
Höllvania Currency: Höllars
While you are in Höllvania, your Credits are called Höllars. Whatever amount of Credits you have is the amount of Höllars you have in Höllvania!
Stacks of them can be found throughout the city in storage lockers and can drop from enemies. They can also be rewarded from Techrot Safes, mission completion and anywhere else their Credits counterpart would normally drop.
Your Höllars can be used to purchase from the DIRECTGIFTZ Shop – learn more about the shop in the dedicated “KIM: Romance & Relationships System” section.
New Resources
The following resources can be dropped from enemies, found throughout Höllvania in resource deposits, rewarded via the Calendar system and more!
Efervon Sample
A sample of the corrosive substance that Scaldra use to purge Techrot. Handle with care.
Experimental Arc-Relay
Höllvanian ingenuity knows no bounds, and this unregulated marvel is proof! A cutting-edge device brimming with untamed innovation.
Höllvanian Pitchweave Fragment
An Effervon-resistant material used to craft Scaldra uniforms.
Techrot Motherboard
This motherboard likely served as a nerve center, facilitating the Techrot’s communication network.
Techrot Chitin
This twisted husk barely resembles the electronic device it once was, consumed and reshaped by the Techrot’s relentless spread.
Efervon Hazard
The Scaldra have Efervon containers around Höllvania, stocked up to use against the Techrot. Pop the pipes and nozzles on these bad boys to release their Corrosive contents to use against them. But beware! You and your allies are also vulnerable to this green goo.
NEW ENEMY FACTIONS
SCALDRA
Ruthless aggression was Höllvania's answer to the Techrot. Wielding highly corrosive Efervon, Scaldra soldiers now patrol the streets to purge any Infestation. With martial law now declared, the Scaldra have total control. Led by Major Neci Rusalka, her command brings the entire military might of Höllvania to bear against you.
Scaldra enemies are vulnerable to Impact and Corrosive Damage and are resistant to Gas Damage.
Scaldra Barbican
Sporting a ballistic shield, this heavy unit closes the distance while laying down pistol fire. Carries an Efervon gel cannon.
Scaldra Flayer
Quick and lethal. This Scaldra unit has been trained to rush the target and inflict maximum damage with their curved blades.
Scaldra Harbinger
This automated aerial unit tracks and triangulates its target with lasers and then fires a high caliber rifle shot.
Scaldra Jaeger
This rifle unit has been trained to suppress the enemy with volley after volley of machine gun fire.
Scaldra Dedicant
This heavily armored, slow moving unit lays down the law with dual Efervon cannons.
Scaldra Eradicator
This support unit smokes out its target with gas grenades and finishes the job with blows from his massive club.
TECHROT
Take down the Techrot in all its myriad forms. Left to fester in Höllvania's underground, the rapidly mutating Infested has created all new threat varieties capable of wreaking havoc on the unprepared.
Techrot Enemies are vulnerable to Gas and Magnetic Damage and are resistant to Cold Damage.
Techrot Galliflex
This aggressive melee unit dashes at enemies, lashing out with frenzied strikes.
Techrot Volatile Galliflex
This self-sacrificing unit ignites its subsumed propane tank and then charges its prey, for the survival of the Hive.
Techrot Miasmite
These tiny nodules of Techrot are the diabolic union of an arc welder and a gas can. Usually attacking in groups, they explode as soon as they near their target.
Techrot Matmas
This tottering, bulbous Techrot creation can inflate bladders to become airborne, raining down destruction on those below.
Techrot Skuzzi
Once a simple workstation, the servant has turned against its former masters.
Techrot Obsolyte
Even redundant technology is given new life through the Technocyte Virus.
Techrot Babau
The rapid decay of human ingenuity produces daemons. Often found growing on neglected Hell-Scrubbers.
HÖLLVANIA MISSIONS & NEW GAME MODES
There are 5 mission types in Höllvania, included in that are 2 NEW game modes:
- Faceoff (New)
- Legacyte Harvest (New Endless Capture)
- Hell-Scrub: Scaldra/Techrot (New Endless Survival Variant)
- Assassination: H-09 Efervon Tank
- Exterminate: Scaldra/Techrot (with a 1999 twist!)
Steel Path
If you have The Steel Path unlocked, you can toggle the Steel Path modifiers on/off for all of these missions in the NavNow screen.
Completing all of the Höllvania missions on Steel Path will reward you with the following:
The Steel Path: 1999 Emote
The Steel Path - 1999 Trophy
Faceoff
Warframe’s next gameplay foray - Faceoff, our first PvPvE game mode! Ready to compete for some Big Bytes Pizza?
Another day, another excursion. But this time, Aoi and Amir are facing off in a friendly competitive race to see who can destroy their foes first.
How To Access
Interact with the Pom-2 PC in the Orbiter or the Höllvania Garage and select the “NavNow” button to bring up the map.
Select Vehrvod District for Faceoff: Squad VS Squad or Lower Vehrod for Faceoff: Single Squad.
- Faceoff: Squad vs. Squad = Play with and against seven other players
- Faceoff: Single Squad = Play with and against AI opponents (solo and non-pvp friendly)
How To Play
Aoi and Amir have recruited two squads for a competitive, yet cordial race, and the loser will don the hat of a Big Bytes Pizza chef! The race goes as such: two synchronized squads strike out onto the streets of Höllvania to accomplish three back-to-back objectives against the Scaldra and the Techrot! You’ll move from each objective, racing to finish them all before your opponent does. The first squad to beat the third objective wins!
To ensure parity, both squads will overcome identical objectives. Additionally, Faceoff has a few restrictions to level the playing field:
- All Squad Restores (e.g., Energy Restore, Ammo Restore) have a 3-minute cooldown.
- The usage of player-spawned Specters & allies (e.g., Ancient Specters, On Call Crew) is disabled.
- Air Support Charges are disabled for the entirety of the mission.
As both squads fight through their objectives, Tenno can pick up Boosts to power the squad up or Penalties to unleash upon their ‘friendly’ competitor. These pickups sporadically spawn and can be used to gain an edge over your rivals.
Seek and destroy your common foe. But is your foe the Scaldra, or perhaps the opposing squad?
Objectives
Both squads will receive the same three randomized objectives and challenges that they must overcome to finish the mission. These objectives are shared between both teams for total parity.
The possible objectives are:
- Exterminate: Destroy all the enemies in your path. Areas on your minimap will be marked in red to indicate zones of increased spawns, but players don’t need to be within them for kills to count. It’s simple: see an enemy, shoot ‘em dead! Fill the gauge to 100% before the opposing team.
- Data Burn: The Hex found a Scaldra data server equipped with a multi-speed CD burner for efficient data transfer — score! Deliver Gas Cans to the generator to keep that CD burner going to secure the valuable information stored within. Various units carry gas cans, so look for them on their backs — dropped gas cans emit a small glow and have the tell-tale powercell icon on the minimap!
- Techrot Scan: Keep your Techrot Scanner alive to learn more about what exactly is plaguing Höllvania Jammers will spawn around the map, which players can destroy to reduce the defense timer. If your scanner falls, the timer stops and the scanner will begin to revive itself.
- Pirate Radio: Ensure the Mobile Voice Pirate Radio keeps its broadcast on-air at all costs. Attached to a balloon, you’ll keep the mobile voice safe as it floats the radio’s signal radio across the street. Like the Techrot Scan objective, smash signal jammers to increase its broadcasting range, therefore speeding up the Mobile Voice Balloon. If the Pirate Radio falls, the timer halts, and the balloon will begin to revive itself.
- Lockbox: A mysterious box, multiple keys, and a self-destruct sequence. The Hex have found a lockbox that requires a set of passkeys to unlock. Scour the marked area on the map to find a passkey and deliver it to the lockbox before it explodes — safety protocols in 1999 were something else, I tell ya. Complete this task 5 times and the treasure is yours!
- Assassination: Follow your GPS signal towards three big boy Techrots VIPs who are just a bit too dangerous to leave standing. Hardy in nature, all that’s asked of you to ensure these marked targets are lined up and shot down.
Boosts:
- Protective Shields: Squad receives invulnerability for 5 seconds, 10,000 Shields for 30 seconds.
- Fleet Footed: Squad gains increased Move Speed and Parkour Speed for 30 seconds.
- Situation Critical: Squad inflicts Red Critical hits for 30s.
- Contents Unknown: Inflict a random Penalty on the opposing squad and bestow a random Boost on yours.
- Elemental Damage: Squad gains random elemental damage for 30s.
- Energy Regeneration: Squad Energy Regeneration, scales with Affinity Link and lasts 30s.
- Melee Lethality: Squad receives Melee Damage increase for 1 minute.
- Summon Kubrow: Summon a friendly Kubrow to assist in combat.
- Protea's Aid: Summon Protea’s Dispensary. Like Protea's ability, each player gets an instance of dropped items.
- Pause Enemies: Stops all enemies in their tracks for 20s.
- Gravity Wells: Creates miniature blackholes that pull in enemies.
- Pickup Radar: Mark pickups for 45 seconds.
Penalties:
- Eximus Influx: Spawns 5 Eximus near a random player
- Danger Zones: Drop damaging zones on your enemy's position for the rest of the match.
- Bolstered Badguys: All enemies gain Overguard.
- Vampire Curse: Health slowly drains for 45s. Kill enemies to recover health!
- Booby Traps: Booby traps 3 random Boost or Penalty pickups.
- Fog Out: A dense fog reduces visibility, making it harder for the opposing team to see.
- Chemspires: Creates 3 Chemspires with increased health near opposing squad members and mission objectives.
- Fire Orbs: Deploys floating bubbles of fire that explode on contact and inflict Heat Status Effect.
- Disabled Health Orbs: Health Orbs do not work for 60 seconds.
- Disable Energy Orbs: Energy Orbs do not work for 60 seconds.
- Longer Cooldowns: Abilities have +10s cooldown for 15s.
- Mortar Strikes: Inflicts a mortar barrage.
Rewards
Rewards will generally be matched between those of winsville and of losertown, but rewards are doled out on a per-objective basis, meaning the winner will earn that extra third objective drop. Winners will also earn a little extra Vosfor!
Missions Rewards: Arcane, Vosfor & Steel Path Rewards
In both the Squad vs. Squad and Single Squad modes, Tenno can earn Vosfor, Arcanes, and Steel Essence (on the Steel Path) as the core mission rewards.
Solo Squad Rewards:
- Normal Path: 30 Vosfor OR 1 of the new Arcanes
- Steel Path: 1 of the new Arcanes & 2 Steel Essence
Squad vs. Squad Rewards:
In Squad vs. Squad, the Vosfor amounts are adjusted whether you win or lose!

- 50 Vosfor OR 1 Arcane

Rotation Rewards
Objective rewards are identical across both Squad VS Squad and Solo Squad!
Tenno can earn rewards for the 1st and 2nd objectives, with the winner of the 3rd objective receiving the extra small reward bump! Be wary, though — Tenno who don’t complete the 1st or 2nd objective won’t receive that specific rotation (which shouldn’t be an issue if you’re keeping up in the match!) You’ll receive the rewards in bulk at the end of the mission!
Squad vs. Squad & Solo Squad Rotation Rewards:
-
1st Objective:
- 2100 Endo
- Meso Relics
- Neo Relics
-
2nd Objective:
- 2400 Endo
- Neo Relics
- Axi Relics
For a full list of drop chances in Faceoff, check out the official Warframe drop tables.
Faceoff: Squad vs. Squad will similarly reward Conclave Standing per objective finished, meaning winners will earn objective 3’s Conclave Standing.
-
Normal Path
- 500 Conclave Standing for objective 1
- 500 Conclave Standing for objective 2
- 1000 Conclave Standing for objective 3
-
The Steel Path
- 750 Conclave Standing for objective 1
- 750 Conclave Standing for objective 2
- 1500 Conclave Standing for objective 3
Contingency Specters
If you’re the last one in your Squad in a Faceoff mission, you will be joined by a Specter teammate to help even out the odds — gotta keep true to the “squad” in the mission name, after all. (This applies to both Single Squad and Squad vs. Squad matches)
Should the opposite team in Squad vs. Squad experience issues causing the entire squad to disconnect, the remaining Squad will be pitted against AI opponents so as to not disrupt their mission. You’ll receive a pop-up in-mission should that occur.
And remember: the losing team has to make the other team a pizza!
Note for Squad vs. Squad matchmaking on iOS: There is a chance that if the Host is on an iOS device the squad may disband after attempting to match into a lobby that doesn’t have enough slots. Since this fix requires code, we’ll have this resolved in the next Cert update.
Legacyte Harvest (Endless)
The Techrot hoards resources to grow and evolve its Legacytes, the big shots of the hive. Eleanor wants you to meet with Kalymos so that she can track down these beasts in the underbelly of Höllvania. Legacyte Harvest is an endless mission mode – the more Legacytes harvested, the more you’ll drain the Techrot of its spreading power!
How To Access
Interact with the Pom-2 PC in the Orbiter or the Höllvania Garage and select the “NavNow” button to bring up the map.
Select Köbinn West to begin a Legacyte Harvest mission.
How To Play
Meet Kalymos in the Höllvania streets to begin searching for Legacytes. Follow her into the underground and protect her while she sniffs them out. If Kalymos takes damage during her search, she will pause momentarily — so keep her well-guarded to optimize your progress! Killed Techrot will drop Pheroglands, which can be picked up and brought to Kalymos to speed up the hunt.
Once her target is found, it’s time to hunt! Legacytes spawn with a unique modifier, making it even trickier to deal with. Weaken and harvest the Legacyte before it has a chance to escape using the Techrot Umbilix – destroy it to prevent it from doing so! If the Legacyte manages to escape successfully, Kalymos will lose the scent trail and you’ll be forced to extract.
Once you have harvested a Legacyte, you can encourage Kalymos to track another one down, or head to extraction to earn your rewards. Beware that each new Legacyte will retain the modifiers of the Legacytes you harvested before it, in addition to its own modifier when it gestates. As you continue your harvest, your targets will become more difficult to take down, so prepare accordingly.
Rewards
Starve the Techrot of vital nutrients by forcing it to create Legacyte after Legacyte and in doing so you shall be rewarded each time one is captured. Since this is an endless mission mode, rewards follow a AABCAABC rotation, with a chance of the following:
- Höllars
- Endo
- Meso Relics
- Neo Relics
- Reconifex Component Blueprints
- Vesper 77 Component Blueprints
For a full list of drop rates per rotation, visit the official Warframe drop tables.
Assassination: H-09 Efervon Tank
Lieutenant Viktor Vodyanoi has sent out his tanks to maintain dominance over Höllvania. Find the H-09 Efervon Tank with Arthur’s guidance and take it down, but Viktor has some tricks up his sleeves to make sure it won’t be easy to get to.
How To Access
Interact with the Pom-2 PC, select the “NavNow” button to bring up the map. Select Victory Plaza as your destination and be prepared to take on this big ol’ hunk of metal!
How To Play
Viktor has set up several barriers to keep you from locating the tank and putting it out of commission. In order to blow these blockages to smithereens, you'll require the necessary firepower.
Killed enemies drop Emergency Transponders that you’ll load into coda.worm.nomnom consoles* to call in Scaldra reinforcements that’ll have exactly what you need.
They’ll descend from the sky and you’ll need to take them out to acquire their Thermian RPG. Pick up the RPG and fire it at the barrier!
Clearing all barriers will bring you to the H-09 Efervon Tank arena where you can stick it to Viktor in a two-phase fight.
*New Hacking Mini-Game: coda.worm.nomnom
Worm hungry, worm nom, worm win!
coda.worm.nomnom consoles are exclusively in the H-09 Efervon Tank Assassination mission.
Move the coda worm to nomnom the symbols on the screen. Avoid the obstacles or else you’ll fail the game and have to restart! Collect all the symbols and you’ll successfully complete the hack.
Controls:
- Move: Move the worm with the Forward/Backwards/Left/Right bindings.
- Speed Boost: Hold “Jump” binding. Releasing will return it to the base speed.
Ciphers can also be used to skip the game and automatically complete it.
Rewards
- New Arcanes (dropped in-world from the H-09 Efervon Tank, so be sure to scoop them up!)
- Höllars
- Endo
- Meso Relics
For a full list of drop rates, visit the official Warframe drop tables.
Hell-Scrub: Scaldra/Techrot (Endless)
Höllvania is being overrun by Techrot and Scaldra, and it’s time to break out the Hell-Scrubbers.
How To Access
Interact with the Pom-2 PC in the Orbiter or the Höllvania Garage and select the “NavNow” button to bring up the map.
There are two Hell-Scrub mission nodes, one for each enemy faction in Höllvania:
- Select Old Konderuk for Techrot
- Select Mischta Ramparts for Scaldra
How To Play
Hell-Scrub is a form of Survival mission, with a twist. Keep survivability high — if it runs out the mission is over and it’s time to high-tail it outta there. Pick up SporeX Charges dropped by enemies and found in crates to gain 5% survivability, or activate a Hell-Scrubber for 30%!
Due to the high levels of contamination, spores can build up on the Hell-Scrubbers. If a tower is at risk, it’ll appear red in your HUD, with a progress bar indicating its contamination level. Let it get to 100% and you’ve got bigger problems on your hands — literally, a big fearsome Techrot Babau will spawn in its place. If you manage to kill a Babau it will provide a moderate amount of survivability, but not as much as a Hell-Scrubber if you had just managed to keep it clean.
Rewards
While cleaning up the area with Hell-Scrubbers, you’re bound to find something to make it worth your while. Since this is an endless mission mode, rewards follow a AABCAABC rotation, with a chance of the following:
- Höllars
- Endo
- Meso Relics
- Neo Relics
- Reconifex Components (built & blueprints)
- Vesper 77 Component Blueprints
Techrot Babaus also drop the following:
- (New) Magnetized Cycle Mod
- (New) Magnetic Strafe Mod
- (New) Magnetic Core Mod
- Endo
For a full list of drop rates, visit the official Warframe drop tables.
Exterminate: Techrot/Scaldra
How To Access
Interact with the Pom-2 PC in the Orbiter or the Höllvania Garage and select the “NavNow” button to bring up the map.
Select Rhu Manor to Exterminate Techrot or Mausoleum East to Exterminate Scaldra.
How To Play
Head out into Höllvania, to clear the streets of any threats. While you’re cleaning the streets or the underground, keep an eye out for abandoned Scaldra Supply Caches! Be careful — getting too close to a Cache begins its lockout sequence, you’ll have to crack it open with some nearby Effervon charges quickly or lose the loot!
Rewards
As if making Höllvania a safer place isn’t reward enough, these are some of the possible rewards for completing an Exterminate mission:
- Höllars
- Endo
- Experimental Arc-Relay
- Techrot Chitin
- Meso Relics
Additionally, cracking open the Scaldra Supply Cache will reward you with one of the new Arcanes:
- Arcane Bellicose
- Arcane Truculence
- Arcane Impetus
- Arcane Crepuscular
- Arcane Camisado
- Primary Crux
- Secondary Enervate
- Melee Doughty
For a full list of drop rates, visit the official Warframe drop tables.
HÖLLVANIA BOUNTIES
The Exterminate, Hell-Scrub, Assassinate, and Legacyte Harvest missions are available to play as Bounties!
How To Access Bounties

You can use the “Bounty” Fast Travel option in the pause menu, or select it in the Gear Wheel.
What To Expect

As mentioned in the Romance & Relationship system section above, completing Bounties with Hex members will increase your Chemistry with them once per day (provided you have Instant Messaged them previously on KIM).
Bounties can either have an additional objective (ex: destroy 5 automobiles) OR a difficulty modifier (ex: Techrot enemies exploding on death) assigned by the Hex member.
If you want to turn up the heat, there is a Steel Path toggle to apply its modifiers to and earn bonus Standing from the currently-posted Bounties.

NEW VEHICLE: ATOMICYCLE
Ride the devil down, Tenno!
How to Acquire
Complete The Hex Quest to receive the Atomicycle Summon, which allows you to spawn it in Höllvania and Open Landscapes.
How to Summon
- In Höllvania: The Atomicycle Summon is automatically added to your Gear Wheel upon entering any Höllvania mission. To summon, open your Gear Wheel and select it.
- In Open Landscapes: Equip the Atomicycle Summon into your Gear Wheel from your Arsenal before setting out to the open road in the Plains of Eidolon, Orb Vallis and the Cambion Drift. Those Grineer, Corpus and Infested won’t know how to process your coolness factor as you rip by them.
Atomicycle Improvements
We read feedback on the Atomicycle’s controls from players who played through the 1999 Demo and made the following improvements (and then some!) based on those first impressions:
-
Updated the control scheme to be more intuitive to a driving sim.
- Specific controls and their respective bindings are listed in the “Atomicycle Controls” section below.
-
Made several changes to the Atomicycle abilities (read the “Atomicycle Abilities” section below for full details!):
-
Atomi-Bomb
- Changed from ability 2 to ability 4.
- Atomicycle will now target explosive barrels and enemies, and if it doesn’t make contact with anything, it will now explode after a brief moment.
-
Added two new abilities:
- Atomi-Barrage (Ability 2): Atomicycle releases a barrage of target seeking missiles.
- Stealth Dismount (Ability 3): Launch off the Atomicycle and gain temporary invisibility.
-
Atomi-Bomb
-
Improved control of drift turns.
- We added a dead zone to drifting so that it is only initiated when actively turning in a given direction instead of at random while slightly turning. Previously, drifts would only use your camera so if you were looking slightly right but turning left, you would enter a right-facing drift. Now, it should feel more intentional when committing to drifting around a turn and reduce instances of sliding in random directions. Drifting will also slow down the speed over time and make the drifts feel weightier, so with these two things combined it should feel much easier to control overall!
-
Added a speed boost when exiting a drift turn.
- When the boost is available you’ll see a VFX pulse at the back of the Atomicycle/wheel during the drift to indicate it is ready to be released.
- Adjusted turn rate to make the Atomicycle more responsive and easier to control.
-
Improved Atomicycle handling with camera movement.
- Now, when you are not accelerating, moving your camera will not affect the Atomicycle’s steering so that you can look around without risk of throwing yourself into a completely different direction unintentionally. Combined with the new control scheme, you should feel much more control when making turns.
-
The “Move Backwards” binding now decelerates the Atomicycle’s speed. If you continue to hold it once at a full stop, you will now back it up slowly.
- In the Demo, braking would initiate a U-turn instead of decelerating, which was unintuitive and made the Atomicycle difficult to control.
-
Reduced collision "stickiness" when making contact with objects, walls, sidewalk bumps, etc.
- In the demo the Atomicycle would get stuck on even the smallest/slimmest of things (traffic signs, light poles, etc.), and it would take quite a bit of wiggling around to free you up again. Furthermore, hitting curbs and other movable objects would completely kill your momentum, which was obviously not ideal. Now, you should be able to cruise freely without fear of hitting those pesky curbs and barrels when traveling at a hundred miles an hour!
- You can now spawn Atomicycle from your Gear Wheel mid-air!
- You can now “aim glide” with the Atomicycle while mid-air!
- Improved dismount animations so that the Atomicycle slows down to a realistic speed when dismount is initiated.
- Improved animation transition blending between upright and banked turns.
- “Thrill Ride” Nightwave Act now counts kills from Atomicycles. While you can’t whip out your secondary while riding (both hands on the steering, please!), the kills from your bike’s Abilities will contribute towards this Act!
Atomicycle Controls
- Mount: Approach Atomicycle and use Context Action binding
- Dismount: “Context Action” or “Melee Attack” binding
-
Accelerate Forward: “Move Forward” binding
- Releasing the binding decelerates the speed.
-
Decelerate: “Move Backwards” binding
- At full stop holding the binding will prompt Warframe to slowly back up Atomicycle.
- Move Left/Right: Move camera/reticle while accelerating
- Bank Left/Right: “Move Left/Right” binding
-
Drift: “Hold to Crouch” binding + bank left/right
- Atomicycle accelerates upon exiting the turn.
- You can also initiate a drift boost while parked! Simply hold the Drift binding and accelerate using the left/right movement bindings to set yourself zooming in that direction.
- Speed Boost: “Sprint” binding
- Bullet Jump: “Jump” binding while accelerating
- Aim Glide: Hold “Aim Weapon” binding while mid-air
Atomicycle Abilities
Ability 1: Atomi-Boost
Kick it into overdrive with a massive burst of speed, all while popping a wheelie. Any enemies in your Atomicycle’s path take damage and are knocked back.
Ability 2: Atomi-Barrage
Target oncoming enemies with a barrage of micro missiles that inflict damage and leave targets vulnerable to further damage.
Ability 3: Atomi-Shadow
Jump off the Atomicycle and become invisible for a brief period.
Ability 4: Atomi-Bomb
Jump off the Atomicycle and send it racing toward enemies or explosive barrels, where it will explode upon impact If no contact is made, it explodes after a brief delay.
Note: Since the Atomicycle is not a moddable vehicle by design, the above abilities cannot be ranked up or have their stats altered by upgrades.
Atomicycle Customization
After completing The Hex Quest, your hot rod can be customized from handles to tires! Personalize your Atomicycle in a special spoiler location revealed in the Quest with one of the several Skins called “Livery” and change the colors to match your style.

ARCADE GAME: CALIBER CHICKS 2
Take a break from battling Techrot to enjoy a new arcade "classic”: Caliber Chicks 2!
In the far future of 20XX, Jillian and Lillian Killian are the Caliber Chicks: Supreme Operatives of the Unified Kingdoms Defence Force and the only ones capable of defeating Anna Ki and rescuing the President.
Take down this ruthless leader and her gang of punks threatening to bring in new law in this single-player run-and-gun action packed arcade game co-developed by Sumo Digital!
How To Access Caliber Chicks 2
The Calibar Chicks 2 cabinet is located in the Höllvania Central Mall’s arcade. Fast travel to the arcade by selecting Amir Beckett in the pause or quick access menu (hold Gear Wheel binding).
Interact with the cabinet to jump into the game and proceed with the next steps:
- Hit the “Start” option
- Select your character: Jillian or Lillian Killian
- Confirm selection
- Have fun!
How To Play & Gameplay Mechanics
Caliber Chicks 2 is an endless game mode. The more enemies you kill, the higher your score! At the end of each stage you will face off against Anna Ki, who has some tricks up her stage to keep the fight going on and on and on and on and on… The more your progress the more difficult the fight gets!
You have 3 lives. Losing all 100 points of health will return you to where you were killed with one less life and will reset your score. Losing all 3 means Game Over! You can choose to either Try Again or Quit at that point. Selecting “Try Again” will take you back to where you died and reset your score.
Extra lives can be earned by adding 150,000 points to your score.
Attacks
Default Weapon
Jillian and Lillian Killian both use a rifle as their default weapon. This fully automatic weapon has a high rate of fire to mow down those Anna Ki punks.
Super Weapon
Both sisters have their own unique Super Weapon attack that requires a charge to use (read Power-Ups section below for more information).
- Jillian’s Laser Cannon: Call in a specialty drone that unleashes a massive beam of destruction.
- Lillian’s Drone Strike: Call in a specialty drone that drops bombs as it flies overhead.
Supply Drones
Supply drones will fly ahead to provide support. Shooting at them will drop their supplies for you to pick up.
Power-ups:
Supply Drones have a chance of flying in with one of the following Power-Ups to aid you in your fight:
- Med-Pack: Refills your health bar to max
- Force-Field: Grants temporary invulnerability
- Super Weapon Charge: Grants an additional Super Weapon charge up to a max of 3
Weapons:
Supply Drones have a chance of dropping one of three weapons that can be used for a limited time:
- Flame Thrower: Engulf targets in a fiery blaze (drops from orange supply drone)
- Laser Beam Rifle: Burn through targets with a continuous beam (drops from purple supply drone)
- Rocket Launcher: Blast enemies with well-aimed rockets (teal supply drone)
Once it reaches the end of its use, the weapon icon in the bottom left corner will blink before switching back to the default rifle.
Controller Controls
Since Caliber Chicks 2 is an arcade game, it uses the following Frame Fighter bindings:
-
Move Left/Right: Left Stick left/right OR D-Pad left/right
- Frame Fighter’s “Move” OR “Move Left/Right”
-
Aim: Left Stick OR D-Pad
- Frame Fighter’s “Move” OR “Move Left/Right”
-
Aim in Place: Hold R2 + Left Stick OR D-Pad
- Frame Fighter's “Special” + “Move”
-
Shoot: Tap/Hold X binding (Frame Fighter's Light Attack)
- Frame Fighter's “Light Attack”
-
Use Super Weapon: Tap Y OR B binding
- Frame Fighter's “Medium Attack” / “Grab”
-
Prone: Hold D-Pad down or Left Stick down
- Frame Fighter's “Crouch”
-
Jump: Tap A
- Frame Fighter's “Block”
-
Dash: Tap R1
- Frame Fighter's “Heavy Attack”
Here is a refresher on the defaults for Frame Fighter so that you can familiarize yourself with for the above bindings for Caliber Chicks 2:
Note: If you have custom bindings for Frame fighter and are having issues with lack of input while playing Caliber Chicks 2, you may need to remap your bindings to ensure you have all of the Frame Fighter bindings that Caliber Chicks uses (as listed above) OR reset to default. You can do so by opening the pause menu > Options > Customize Key/Controller Bindings > Select the Frame Fighter Tab > Hit the “Defaults” button in the bottom right corner > Hit “Ok” to confirm.
In both KBM and Controller layouts, you can pause the game at any point by opening the Pause Menu. From the Pause menu you can choose to Resume or Quit. Quitting will take you back to the title screen.
Rewards:
- Completing Stage 3 for the first time will reward you with the Pixel Perfect Glyphs in your Inbox.

GEMINI SERIES SKINS
Gemini Series Skins — the first-ever transforming Warframe Skins to grace your Arsenal — allows you to switch between your Warframe and its corresponding Protoframe on-the-fly by activating a unique Emote.
Each Skin includes its own suite of fully voice-acted dialogue that is audible during gameplay. Available for use during any Mission, Gemini Series Skins are customizable, allowing you to deploy up to two distinct Fashion Frames at a time.
All of the Gemini Series Skins can be purchased for Platinum in the 1999 Gemini Pact Collection and are also part of the 1999 Complete Collection and Gemini Oath Collection, which can both be purchased with real-world currency and included Platinum.
*In our next Code build we will be adding an audio toggle to “Enable Gemini Skin Voices”, where upon disabling you won’t hear Gemini Skin voices at all (yours or squadmates) if you wish. We intended to have this in the 1999 Update but there were complications.
Arthur (Excalibur) Gemini Skin
Arthur Nightingale, gruff leader of the Hex, brings a human face to the Excalibur Warframe.
Switch between Excalibur and Arthur's fully voiced, customizable Gemini Skin with the included Arthur Gemini Emote, even during missions.
Note: Arthur Gemini Skin can also be equipped onto Excalibur Umbra. We added the “Toggle Prime Details” toggle so you can enable/disable the Umbra details (scarfs, arm accessories, etc.).
Aoi (Mag) Gemini Skin
Aoi Morohoshi, the Hex's protective second-in-command, brings a human face to the Mag Warframe.
Switch between Mag and Aoi's fully voiced, customizable Gemini Skin with the included Mag Gemini Emote, even during missions.

Switch between Nyx and Eleanor's fully voiced, customizable Gemini Skin with the included Eleanor Gemini Emote, even during missions.
Lettie (Trinity) Gemini Skin
Lettie Garcia, the Hex's long-suffering medic, brings a human face to the Trinity Warframe.
Switch between Trinity and Lettie's fully voiced, customizable Gemini Skin with the included Lettie Gemini Emote, even during missions.
Quincy (Cyte-09) Gemini Skin
Quincy Isaacs, the Hex's brash. self-assured sharpshooter, brings a human face to the Cyte-09 Warframe.
Switch between Cyte-09 and Quincy's fully voiced, customizable Gemini Skin with the included Quincy Gemini Emote, even during missions.
Note: Quincy’s Beret can be equipped/unequipped from the Auxiliary menu.
How to Customize
Go to your Warframe’s Appearance options in the Arsenal and equip the Gemini Skin onto their respective Warframe to customize as you normally would!
Here are all the ways you can color customize your Gemini Skins:
- Base Body: Changed via the main skin color channels.
- Hair Color: There is an additional “Hair Color” tab in the Arsenal that’ll let you fully customize the Protoframe’s luscious locks to your liking.
- Eye Color: Changed via the Energy color channel.
-
Tactical Gear/Accessories: Changed via the “Attachments” tab.
- Note: Some of the accessories are intentionally not tintable as they are core to the Protoframes character/story and we want to honor those in their Gemini Skin (ex: Quincy’s earrings, Amir’s Tammpet, etc.)
There is an additional “Hair Color” option to customize the Hex member’s luscious locks to your liking. You can also alter their eye color by changing the Energy.
Helmets cannot be equipped onto Gemini Skins - who would want to hide those beautiful faces!
Appearance Configs
Your appearance configs are used differently depending on how you are switching between the Gemini Skin and Warframe using the Gemini Emote in mission:
- Starting a mission with a Gemini Skin equipped and switching to Warframe will always use the appearance settings from Config A for your Warframe.
-
Starting a mission with another Warframe Skin (other than Gemini) and switching to Gemini Skin will always use the first Config that has it equipped.
- For example, if you have the Arthur Gemini Skin equipped in both Config B and C, it will use Config B in mission.
How to Use Gemini Emote
Open Emote Gear Wheel and select the respective Gemini Emote for the Warframe you are using to swap to the skin. You can swap back and forth as many times as you like!
Gemini Emotes can also be used with other Warframes, but only the animation sequence will play.

WARFRAME CHANGES: TRINITY & NYX
Trinity Changes
A large part of Trinity’s changes involve increasing her overall duration and changing most of them to be cast while moving. In revisiting her kit, we’ve also added scalability and additional functionalities to some of her Abilities to increase their usefulness to both Trinity and her allies.
New Passive
- Trinity and any allies within Affinity Range will gain 50% of Trinity’s Max Energy as Health. (25% in Conclave)
Ability 1: Well Of Life
Well of Life struggles the most in a game where enemy damage can outmatch its healing. To address this, we’re allowing Trinity to cast multiple Wells to increase its healing output, and are adding a way for her to negate lethal damage for herself and allies.
- Can now be cast on 3 enemies total (previously was only 1).
-
If Trinity or Allies (or their Companions) die within the radius of the Well, the death is negated and the Well ends.
- The saved player is fully healed and experiences a brief period of invulnerability.
- Saved players experience a 60s cooldown before they can be saved by Well of Life again (120s for Helminth version). This cooldown is indicated via an icon in their HUD.
- Added SFX and pop-up to indicate to a player when they have been Saved by the Well.
- Can now be cast while moving.
- Increased Radius from 15 to 20m.
- Increased Duration from 12 to 20s.
- Improved animation so the enemy being lifted aligns better with Trinity’s hand motions.
- Added a delay for recasting to avoid accidental dismissal.
Trinity_WellfOfLife+Revive.mp4
Ability 2: Energy Vampire
Energy Vampire is an outlier in Trinity’s kit, where players are incentivized to build for negative Duration to maximize how quickly enemies emit four pulses of energy. We are removing the cap on energy pulses, and have changed Energy Vampire to better scale with Duration:
- Energy Vampire is no longer capped at 4 Energy Pulses. Pulses are now released at a set Interval for the duration of the Ability.
-
The Pulse Interval (ie. how often enemies emit energy) can no longer exceed 2.25s, meaning positive Duration is more viable for Energy Vampire usage. Increasing Duration will also increase the number of energy pulses released by the enemy, since they are now emitted at set intervals.
- We’ve added a Pulse Interval stat to the Ability screen to help players build around this mechanic.
- Negative Duration will still decrease the Pulse Interval and Ability Duration, so traditional Energy Vampire builds should be largely unaffected by this change. In fact, at 13% Duration, this Ability still releases 4 rapid-fire Pulses that EV players know and love.
- Players can now recast this Ability, causing the previous target to be released.
- Can now be cast while moving.
Here's an example of what a High Duration build looks like with these changes:
Trinity_EnergyVamp_HighDuration.mp4
Vampire Leech Augment:
- Increased Shield Regen from 150% to 225%.
Ability 3: Link
Link is one of Trinity’s stronger Abilities, so its changes are quality of life focused to bring it up to current Warframe standards:
- Trinity can now recast Link while it is active, and cast it while she is moving.
- The number of Link’s targets now scales with Power Strength.
- Increased Duration from 12 to 20s.
- Updated “Damage Reduction” stat to say “Damage Redirection” since you are passing it onto your foes!
Ability 4: Blessing
Like with Link, Blessing is also one of Trinity’s stronger Abilities, so its changes are quality of life focused to bring it up to current Warframe standards:
- Increased Duration from 10 to 15s.
- Damage Resistance from Blessing now persists upon recast. (this only applied to a few seconds during the start of the recast, but any loss of DR can be killer — literally.
Champion’s Blessing Augment:
- Increased Duration from 12s to 30s.
Nyx Changes
Nyx does not directly deal damage herself, but instead spreads chaos across the battlefield — causing her very foes to turn on each other. We are keeping this theme as the core of her Abilities, and have made changes to increase the lethality of this chaos.
New Passive
-
Nyx gains +40% Critical Chance on her Primary and Secondary weapons per Confused* enemy within Affinity range, up to a cap of +200%.
- * specifically enemies suffering from Radiation’s status effect (Confusion) and Nyx’s Mind Control target
Ability 1: Mind Control
Since Mind Control is a single-target ability, we want to help turn your Mind Controlled foe into a killing machine — coupled with a few quality-of-life additions to ensure players maximize their use of this ability.

Nyx’s Mind Control Target will more aggressively attack foes and deal guaranteed Radiation Procs on their attacks.
- Mind Control Targets are also crowd-control immune (like foes with Overguard) to optimize their time rampaging. For this reason, any crowd-control effects are also cleared from the target upon casting.
- Targets will also prioritize the enemies Nyx is aiming at!
- Increased the max distance before your Target will teleport to you from 20m to 60m (matching Caliban’s Lethal Progeny).
- Mind Control targets are now highlighted like a summon to help you keep track of them, and Nyx will now see their damage numbers.
-
Added a HUD element when casting Mind Control that displays the duration and % of Bonus Damage done by your Target.
- This HUD element will display a flashing particle effect when the Target absorbs incoming damage.
- Once the ability expires, this element will also briefly show the total damage dealt by your Target.
- Mind Control’s duration will not start counting down until AFTER the 4 second “absorption” window has passed.
- Nyx retains the functionality of recasting this Ability to release her original Target, but if done while targeting another enemy, Mind Control will now immediately cast on them.
- Increased Mind Control’s base damage bonus from +500% to +750%.
- Increased Mind Control’s base duration from 45s to 60s.
Mind Freak
- Increased bonus damage applied to Mind Control Target from +500% to +1000%.
Ability 2: Psychic Bolts
Psychic Bolt’s strongest aspect is its ability to strip defenses. We’ve expanded on that by a) letting Nyx benefit from the defenses she strips and b) adding a means for Psychic Bolts to spread from enemy to enemy, adding to the overall chaos.
- Killing an enemy affected by Psychic Bolts will cause two more Bolts to spread from it to unaffected targets.
- Now displays Ability duration upon casting.
-
Nyx earns a fixed amount of defenses she removes with Psychic Bolts. This effect persists for 20 seconds (scaling with Duration) and its duration refreshes when further defenses are stripped. The amount of defenses earned — and the Armor/Overguard cap — scales with Ability Strength.
- 25 Armor per Armored enemy, up to a cap of 1,000.
- 75 Shields per Shielded enemy, up to the Overshield Cap (1,200).
- 500 Overguard per enemy with Overguard, up to a cap of 7,500.
Pacifying Bolts Augment
- Pacifying Bolts now applies 1 stack of Radiation upon hit.
Ability 3: Chaos
Our goal was to leave Chaos largely unchanged, with a single tweak:
-
Chaos applies 10 Radiation Stacks for the duration of the Ability, instead of simply applying Confusion. This means that Chaos’d enemies will now deal 100% bonus damage to your enemies.
- For clarity, Confusion is the name of Radiation’s Status Effect.
Ability 4: Absorb
Absorb in its current state requires enemies to be shooting at you — for a Warframe designed around making your enemies shoot at each other, this Ability felt at-odds with the rest of Nyx’s kit.
-
Absorb is now a duration-based ability: cast it to absorb all surrounding damage for 5 seconds (scales with Duration) and redirect it in a radial explosion.
- Instead of only absorbing damage directed at you, the damage of Confused enemies will also be affected by Absorb. This allows for increased synergy with Chaos and Mind Control, since those foes will no longer be excluded from this ability.
- Since it is no longer a channelled ability, the “Drain 8 energy per 1000 Damage Absorbed” mechanic has been removed.
- Nyx will also be able to ascend and descend while in Absorb, using jump and crouch!
- For every 5,000 damage Absorbed, Nyx will remain Invulnerable for 1s after Absorb ends, up to a cap of 6s.
- Added Weapon Damage Cap to the Ability stats for visibility.
Assimilate Augment:
- Assimilate retains its infinite duration!
- Since we have removed the energy drain per 1000 Damage Absorbed, we have increased the energy cost from 4 to 6.5 per second to compensate.
- Added energy drain stat to the Mod description since it no longer applies to the base Ability.
- Nyx can now jump while Assimilate is active.
- Reduced blurring VFX.
INFESTED ANCIENT CHANGES
As we worked on the Techrot faction, many of the enemies drew inspiration from their Infested counterparts. During development, the Techrot variants received some significant design changes that we felt were appropriate to apply to their progenitors as well — namely the Infested Ancients.
NOTE: these changes apply to all Ancient variants in the Origin System.
Toxic Ancient
Warframes who rely on Shields for survivability have one fear and it’s Toxic Ancients. These foes are infamous for their ability to melt even the beefiest Hildryn, regardless of the mission level.
The following changes intend to address two issues with Toxic Ancients: a) how lethal their attacks could be, and b) how difficult they were to avoid due to minimal telegraphing.
-
Removed their Toxic Aura.
- This Aura granted themselves and nearby allies Toxic damage and Toxic resistance.
- Toxic Ancients have retained their Toxin resistance and this resistance is now indicated in their health label.
-
Replaced Toxic Roar Ability with a Toxic Flail that delivers a guaranteed Toxic Proc.
- This Ability is borrowed from the new Techrot Obsolyte unit, with clear wind-up animation that players can react to.
- Swapped their color profile to a yellow-ish green.
- Toxic Ancient’s model has been updated to include a spiny protrusion on their upper back to help visually distinguish them from other Ancients.
Ancient Disruptor
Ancient Disruptors acted like quasi-Energy Leech Eximus with their energy draining aura. This update refocuses their design to be disruptive via the use of Magnetic Procs.
-
Removed their Disruption Aura.
- This Aura granted themselves and nearby allies with increased Energy Drain on attacks, and resistance to Warframe Abilities (reducing both their damage and duration on affected targets).
- Ancient Disruptors retain an innate resistance to Warframe Abilities.
-
Added a new Spinning Arm Attack that deals guaranteed Magnetic Procs.
- You may also recognize this from the Techrot Obsolyte’s kit!
- Ancient Disruptor’s model has been updated to include a tangled mess of infestation on their upper back to help visually distinguish them from other Ancients.
Ancient Healer
Ancient Healers increased the survivability of surrounding units in a variety of ways — offering Overguard and healing over time — but ultimately their true effectiveness was tied to Overguard. With this redesign, we are separating out their Overguard ability to add to a new unit (details in the Ancient Protector section below), and focusing on the Healer part of their kit.
- Removed their ability to give Overguard to Allies.
-
Updated Healing Pulse ability to scale better at higher levels.
- Effect now heals allies within range 20% of their max health per second for 4 seconds.
- Pulse now also clears status effects from allies within range.
- Swapped their color profile to a light green to match the expected color profile for healing characters.
- Ancient Healer’s model has been updated to include plant-like protrusions on their upper back to help visually distinguish them from other Ancients.
NOTE: Ancient Healer Specters operate differently than their enemy counterpart and are not affected by these changes. The 90% Damage Reduction is remaining, but we are changing their name and model to match the Ancient Protector since their functionality is more in-line with that unit.
Ancient Protector
As mentioned above, we have taken the Ancient Healer’s Overguard Ability and moved it to a new unit entirely: the Ancient Protector! Players will encounter this new enemy wherever other Ancients spawn.
- Ancient Protectors emit a 10-meter aura that provides all allies with its range with Overguard.
- Their aura-projection and general attacks mirror that of the Ancient Healer.
- These enemies emit a greyish-blue aura and feature a series of rings protruding from its back to distinguish them from other Ancients.
ADDITIONS
-
Added two new cursor options! Legacy Warframe & 1999 Pom-2
- To change your cursor, go to your settings > Accessibility > Scroll down to Interface > Select the “Mouse Cursor” option. Changing the 1999 Pom-2 cursor will also apply when using it in the Pom-2 itself!
-
Added a new login warning e-mail when new logins are detected from an account that doesn’t have TennoGuard Two-Factor Authentication enabled.
- We highly recommend all players enable 2FA on their accounts, but as an added security measure we will now send a notification to the email associated with your account when new logins occur.
- Added new Accolade Glyphs for Tenno who display certain feats of strength.

- Changed Hildryn's Pillage Shield strip to be more in line with other Shield strip abilities where it actually strips the Shield instead of doing damage to the Shield. That way it doesn't get stopped by Overguard or get modified by Damage Resistance.
-
Re-enabled Koumei’s Omikuji challenges to count kills made by squadmates if the final killing blow is dealt within two seconds of Koumei dealing damage to the target.
- We originally added this interaction in Hotfix 37.0.4, but due to rampant crashes caused by it we had temporarily disabled it in Hotfix 37.0.5, since the fixes required code. Now the crash fixes are here, we have re-enabled assists for Omikuji!
-
Increased the invulnerability period after Nezha’s Warding Halo breaks from 1 second to 2 seconds.
- Also fixed Nezha not being left with 2 health after Warding Halo is broken if the damage he received was enough to be a lethal blow.
- These changes should address cases of players being one-shot with Warding Halo active, and should give Nezha players more time to react in lethal situations.
-
Changed the “Slow Motion” Captura setting to “Game Speed,” which will allow you to slow AND speed up the game to better help photographic (or videographic) Tenno capture their visions! The following options are available to choose from:

- 1.2x
- 2.0x
- 3.0x
- 5.0x
- Added “Owned” checkmark to the on-hover popup when viewing Arcanes in the Arcane Dissolution screen. The count will specifically show the amount of a specific-ranked Arcane you own.
-
Elemental Damage from the Thermal Transfer and Valence Formation Augments will now be added parallel to your weapon’s Elemental Damage, instead of creating Combined Elemental Damage types.
- This also applies to Mods that apply Elemental damage to Ally weapons, like Fireball Frenzy, Shock Trooper, Anabolic Pollination, and Freeze Force.
- This was changed for relevant Decrees and Saya’s Visions Blessings with 37.0.7, and now also applies to these Augments!
-
Forced Status Effects are now displayed in the on-hover Status tooltip in the Arsenal.
-
Known Issue: some forced Status Effects are not properly reflected in this tooltip, which we hope to address in 2025.

- Staticor will consume ammo when firing rather than when charging.
- Staticor will not consume ammo while holding a full charge.
- You may see Staticor consume more than 1 round of ammo even if you tap quickly.
-

- This was a rare case where if you, for example, dealt a Toxin Status Effect without any Toxin Damage, you’d see a big grey zero next to the Toxin Status icon on all nearby enemies. This was misleading and made it seem that the enemy was invulnerable to damage and that the Status was not transferring, when in fact it was just not dealing any damage directly.
