In my opinion this is an extremely scummy thing to release, especially if we take into consideration the farming nerf not so long ago. This combined with he fact that mods are a direct increase in the players power unlike resources or affinity (out counting focus) just sets a pretty bad precedent for warframes future.

In addition while some of you might think that DE wouldn't influence the drop chance of certain mods in order to accommodate this new booster, in my opinion you're putting to much faith into DEs hands. Is it because DE is a bad company? No, its because like any other company they're primary goal is to make money and if they release a monetization option like a new booster, they'll want to make use of it.

Like with building times and items slots requiring you to spend plat to bypass their limitations, boosters in general follow the same rule, presenting a limitation that you can bypass by paying.

For those of you that think DE needs to make money so its not that big of a deal, I must sourly inform you that even then there is far better ways to make money in a game, like for example cosmetics (which DE has been pumping like crazy instead of actual content). Imaging this, what if this boosters instead of increasing the chances of dropping mods, instead it would influence the drop chance for items such as frame and weapon parts or even arcanes.

Boosters are a huge part of the monetization of a game and introducing a new one will always lead to radical changes in order to make that booster viable, otherwise why release it. This is why I'm completely against this feature being added. I'm not saying that DE is an evil company or EA 2.0, but that doesnt mean that they're absolved from questionable business practices. A consumer should not forgive a company for doing something questionable, since in the end of the day we're the one being f*cked over and not the company.

The farming meta nerf in combination with this booster is questionable, indeed.

We added Mod boosters to the game in 2013 with the intention of releasing them, and never did. This (very-raw-dev) screenshot shows their creation in our 16th revision of the 'Boosters' data file, in October 2013.

In August 2018 we also intended to release them with Twitch Drops as a new reward in 30 minute batches but the shaky tech held them back. This screenshot shows conversations toward that end in August 2018.

So, here we are again releasing them for real to spice up Prime Access, but also adding to Sorties and Baro to refresh their appeal (They will be in Sorties on launch now, and Baro from time to time). I'm presenting these facts just so everyone is on the some page as to their history and long term timing, and I apologize for the distress they've caused since yesterday's announcement.
