I wish we found this game early.

Our childhood friend group always struggle with what game to play all the time. We used to play DotA a lot but as we got older, our reflexes became worse and time schedules were not as flexible anymore. We turned to mobile games but they were utterly pay to win. Although we could spend money and sh*t on other people, the sense of achievement wasn't there. So we tried different games and even played monopoly for a while. Since we all think we are smart af, we needed the game which allows us to think creatively and strategically.

One day, while I was snooping around my old bedroom at my parent's house, I found a package which is tightly sealed for dust. It was my old Gameboy Advanced box with a lot of cartridges.. damn the nostalgia. And there it was, my favorite Advance Wars cartridge next to Pokémon Red, Blue, Yellow, Gold, Silver, Ruby and Emerald (Yea I was a Pokémon fan also). I knew the guys would like Advance Wars and later at my house, I googled "Advance Wars steam" hoping I would find the game there, completely forgetting it was a Nintendo title. But hey, there was Wargroove on the first result. Props to whoever did the google ads or SEO or whatever.

We only stared playing Wargroove last week but we are pouring 5-6 hours daily and it is a lot by our standards. And WFH schedules really gave us flexibility to play together. We play 2vs2 so there were a lot of heated arguments and competition was immense. But the fun of outplaying your friends and trash-talking them to abyss is unparalleled to any other games.

We just wish that the Devs will continue to support the game and hopefully, there will be an another update like Double Trouble. Thank you Devs!

Thanks so much for the lovely post, it's really great to hear it's bringing back that Advance Wars feel for you. (Sorry about the heated arguments! haha)
