After numerous nerfs to Jax jg, Riot finally decided that they're gonna remove him from the jg entirely by making his passive not work on monsters. I thought he was in a fine spot tbh, but Riot thought otherwise.
Here's the thing, I liked jg because it has the most impact and responsibility but if I can't play Jax jg, I can't be bothered to ever queue jg again. I'll just play him top even if it means having less impact. My main goal is to play Jax, not jungle.
Congratulations Riot, you're killing off a dead role even more. More people are gonna be alienated from jg because you removed a very popular jg champion, not just any champion, one of the few hyper carries. It's like they only expect jg mains to play utility or tank or spam gankers.
Make no mistake, this decision doesn't just hurt Jax mains, it's a nerf to the whole jungle role, because this role just lost a unique champion (hyper carry with mixed damage), meaning that the pool of viable junglers has been reduced.
On the other hand, no new jg champions are being released, the last jg release was kha'zix and Rengar in season 2. The last champion releases were a bunch of supports and sett and kayle. There's also no sign of upcoming release of jg champions in the near future.
To make it worse, Riot isn't modifying any lane champions to make them viable in the jg, so you reach a point where you can only choose between like 5-6 viable junglers. And this pool isn't growing at all.
Jg feels even more unappealing than before...
