[2020] WG: The issue with Yashima and Steel Ships. Suggested Solutions inside

Yashima is currently WIP, her current stats may never make it past testing - who knows. We can't until it is tested. Thus its too soon to determine this conclusively.

Kinda the purpose of steel. Its meant to be a limited resource that is dedicated to competitive modes that players can work to obtain. It is not meant to be a "participation" reward. Even in saying that, it is available to non-clan players through containers and through the Steel Monsters campaign.

Furthermore, as seen by a recently announcements, we do intend to test periodically cycling ships from Steel to Coal (as seen by the Black, Flint, and Neutr.) Thus making the ships obtainable to the more casual, or time-restricted player. We stand by the intention to keep steel ships limited to these resourced and steel avenues until their shift to Coal.

Coal is meant to be the casuals players alternative to Steel. Ships offered for coal are still good ships and balanced as steel ships are. For example, the Jean Bart is one of my favorite ships which is currently a coal ship.

Adding another resource is not an avenue we're looking into as we are happy with the coal and steel system. Ultimately, it comes down to if you want the superbowl ring, you have to play in the superbowl. If not, you're going to get the reward for the outlet you are playing in.

Apologies to you @AdmiralThunder, @XurMP, and anyone else offended by my poor word use. I'd like to reaffirm, to me, it doesn't matter what mode you play or what you enjoy, Co-op, Randoms, Competitive or any combination of the three - you are all players and personally hold value to me. For those who don't know. I myself only play Ranked from the competitive options, and understand even that is not for everyone. If this has not come across in previous communications, then again, I apologise.

You have already gained the value from having Stalingrad for however long you've had it. We do not have a ship trade in program.

What I'm saying, is if you want the reward for an event, you have to partake in the event. I cannot and do not participate in Clan Battles, I could change this if I really wanted, but instead I accept that I will not receive the rewards. On that point, Clan Battles, and Ranked are not pay-walled, they never have been. You are welcome to participate in them using Tech Tree ships. While I understand your occupation is restrictive and unpredictable, Ranked battles on average run for around 4 weeks, Clan battles, a similar time frame. Ranked runs all hours of the day, and with cross-server MM for CBs enabled, the mode is available for a large portion of the day.

Steel is not a participation reward for playing the game in general, but yes, it is a reward for participating in certain modes.

I would agree with you, expect for the fact that the steel ships are not designed to be OP or have unbalanced strengths over TT ships.

As with all ships in the game, paid, tech tree, coal, steel, fxp, they are all designed to be balanced against the ships they can see. With Strengths and weaknesses.
