Heyo Captains,

Dusk must set on every dawn, and it is my time to sail off into the sunset.

I joined World of Warships NA in June 2018 and since then have thoroughly enjoyed my time supporting, growing, and celebrating with the NA Community. We've seen a lot of ups and downs the last 21 months and I wouldn't have changed a thing with you all. This is a decision I made separate from any interaction internally or externally from WG and the community. I still have positive and strong friendships with other Wargaming and World of Warships employees both locally and globally. My last day at Wargaming NA will be the 25th of February.

While I may be saying goodbye to my time at Wargaming as an employee, I'm excited to return to the player base as a fan of the game once more! I'll definitely still be around in various community avenues and on my personal stream. Given that it is my time to say goodbye, I'd like offer you all the chance to Ask me Anything! Please bare in mind that I am and will remain bound by NDA conditions and not be answer anything that would consider a breach of this.

Thank you Everyone, you are an amazing community, and I appreciate every interaction I've had with you since Day 1.

This ain't goodbye, this is I'll see you later.

Well, when a mummy and daddy love each other very much *insert remainder of Cat in the Hat reference*

1 - I was never involved with the CV rework design or development. It had absolutely nothing to do with me joining or leaving.

2 - Ideally, yes. It will depend on my new position and what sort of time that will take up. Given that I will no longer be working on the game on a daily basis I feel like I’ll be more motivated to play in the evenings again which will allow me to stream.
3 - Getting to build and grow the community, and the friends I’ve made. I got to start a lot of initiatives that I dreamed of as a player, some of which will still be seen in the coming months.

I’ve seen it, but I’m not a super fan. It’s a solid franchise.

This would break my NDA obligations. Best answer I can give is soon.

Unlikely at the moment, PVE development isn’t a priority for the team at the moment

Nope! I’m remaining in Austin and have another job lined up. I already have a permanent green card and have since before my time at WG.

To keep growing more as a person and taking better care of myself mentally and physically. I have a new job lined up that I’ll announce on my media when it’s time. No new car, I bought my dream car in 2018 (2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata) and no plans to replace it at the moment. I will be visiting a new county this year - Amsterdam for TCEU but no other travel plans at the moment. I’ll probably be buying some new sneakers at some point, my purple ones have seen better day.

A hidden and fun fact that the office torments me about... I’ve never seen star wars in full...

I think you’ll be safe from me awhile longer!

A lot of these are just being held for a better time to release to my knowledge.

Yes! I will still be allowed to attend events as any other player. I may attempt to make it out to some of the 2020 events for fun! My last official AAT event will be the Kidd!

Purple!

It will be the decision of whoever leads the NA CC next on whether my content makes the cut. I will probably wait awhile before considering applying.

1 - The change of the system of early releases, the rate of which patches are released, the global unification of a lot of things.
2 - That’s a tough one, there’s a lot that is just impractical to do. I think the biggest improvement we could make is how things are communicated.

Yes! That will be last event as a WoWS staff :) one last celebration.

Was never into pink as a kid but a dark purple always really appealed to me, that fact it’s both feminine and masculine at the same time.

Hmm, those months where I was the only community staff (Karma is a hybrid) for NA was definitely rough. There were days that I definitely wondered why I was putting myself through so much. In saying that, I never felt obligated. I love my job and the community, even when you were upset, I didn’t want to let our wonderful community go without any staff. Nowadays with the addition of Kalvothe and Hapa (and maybe more soon!) I feel my leaving will (hopefully) not leave the community up the creek. It’s time for me to do what’s best for me now :)

Since I am community staff, there isn’t too much in the game I’ve heavily impacted, so on an NA side of things what I am most proud of:

1 - the revival of offline events (Anchors Away Anaheim, Anchors Away Tour, and several events at conventions.

2 - the revival and expansion of bounty events

3 - the restructure and revival of the NA forums, including the dedicate areas for Community programs, Weekly contents, PVE, and it’s overall cleanup.

4 - Increasing of the diversity and representation in events. Such as “The Perthfect Opportunity” the event themed for Australia Day, this was a massive pride point for me. There is still a few cosmetic items that I’ve helped with that will be the game at a later point.

1 - The intended bounty for March time will probably be cancelled given I will not be there to run it. I am however working on documenting the event and it’s process so that the team can pick it up again in the future. I’ll also be handing off the discord server I created for it to the staff to use going forward. It will be up to the rest of the team to decide when they will run one in the future.

2 - Streams we’re currently working out. The team should be able to run the studio for basic steams until they learn the more complex functions. If need be we may need to lean on and borrow TragicLoss to help for the meantime. I will be going in to help them produce the next KoTS finals as that’s a rather big undertaking.

I’m still considering trying to make it out to some of the AAT events as a player to support the game that I still love. Whether this includes NC, I’ll have to see what my schedule is looking like.

Oooo! That’s a hard one considering I don’t remember dates things were released...

1 - Jean Bart

2 - T-61 (despite the release of this ship being a nightmare)

3 - Massachusetts

7am sync calls. I am not a morning person.

If I asked, I’m sure the team would consider making me one again. I think I’d really like a break for a little while before diving in deep again :)

Nope! It was my decision to leave. The NA WoWS team is actually growing and my position will be listed and refilled after my leaving.

I definitely think I’ll try and attend a few this year as a personal trip.

I have another position lined up for after my departure, but this is not the time nor place to announce it.

Not sure I'd be much help there.

We are still working on that ;) we haven't made any announcements yet.

*Helps you up* whats your question :P

Maybe in time I will rejoin the CC ranks, but I think I'd like to spend some time rekindling my love for the game as a regular player for a little and working on some other content goals.

Oooof.

I'm not from New Zealand :P I'm Australian/British. Fun fact is Australians hate being mistaken as New Zealanders, and New Zealanders hate being called Australians.

I'll be staying stateside, and remaining in Austin for the foreseeable future.

"You" as in the community, not you specifically, sorry :P

6 pages suggest otherwise ;)

Cool story, could use dragons.

Well Captains, we'll call that a day on this thread as I am on my last day with WG, thank you all for your kindness and support over the last (almost) two years.

I'll see you on the seas, once again.
