Aloha,

So something that some may not know is the level of data that we look at when releasing ships, especially premium or "special" ships.

One of the things we did for Hayate is first to ask the community what you'd like to the purchase currency to be for this ship. After these results were found, that the community wanted FXP as the currency for this ship we had to look holistically at the average player, how much FXP they have in order to not necessarily inundate the pool of DD's being played to be full of Hayates and set the cost in accordance with what we felt is/was appropriate.

Though you may not feel that 2 million FXP is appropriate, with you being able to mount every single economic signal if you want, you can accumulate FXP pretty fast. I am sure there are a lot of players that didn't need to convert XP to FXP due to this, in order to purchase her.

In the past we have had feedback from the community that they have so much FXP built up that they needed something to spend it on, so this is another option to do so.

I mean, not every single premium or special ship we release is attached to an event, that would be pretty difficult to do TBH. Hayate was designed specifically to be a premium that was released for those that enjoy the IJN DD lines. And as she is not released in bundles because, again, the community voted they wanted her for FXP this is how she is being released.

@DolphinPrincess wasn't saying you HAVE to play competitive... competitive play just brings you MORE, as said, playing a few battles a day is often enough.... I don't play ANY competitive and play 5-10 battles a day and honestly before purchasing Hayate myself still have over 3 million FXP (without converting).

Again, the currency to purchase this ship was decided by the community (the players) as a whole, over approximately a 3 week voting period globally.

Quite a few players voted actually, something like 50,000 globally total. And when we posted the vote we mentioned the fact it was a tier X ship and the cost would be in accordance with her tier, during the time we talked about her, it was mentioned numerous times what we guessed the price would be around (as we couldn't comment until it was announced).

The vote wasn't for the price, the vote was for the currency. I am sorry you're insulted for me saying that earning FXP is easy, but it really is, especially right now, with you being able to mount all economic signals.

I totally understand that the player base wants certainty but TBH in game development and the video game industry in general, certainty I personally believe (this is just Hapa's opinion) NOTHING is certain.

The thing that everyone has to try to take into account, and I know that some do not like to hear this, but we have to look at the global holistic stock pile for players in terms of currency.

Case in point there was a time where there were A LOT of players that had upwards of a billion or more credits... When the RB dropped and players were able to reset lines, that stock pile went down, for some credits meant something again.

When we set the price for things in game it isn't necessarily based off of what the other ships in the tier are set to (though this does help drive the average price I am sure). Globally people are FXP'ing up to tier X when new lines are dropped, they are FXP'ing upgrades to ships often, or skipping ships that they do not wish to grind, this is significantly more common than I think a lot of people realize.

Understand through all of these discussions it should also be understood, I don't necessarily agree with the price of said ship either, HOWEVER, I DO understand why the price was set to what it was and this is also why I am trying my hardest to explain it to people.

It has nothing to do with offending people or anything else.

You're right, I don't play much Coop, but in this topic we didn't discuss coop (I don't think I saw that mentioned anyways). I play Randoms (though I do play coop to help train people and scenarios with friends) and NO competitive (Ranked or CB's) because I play this game for fun and don't really look to do so on a competitive level. And I have discussed what you would need to do in a recent PvE topic in terms to average what you would need to do in order to equal randoms (in general, not necessarily talking about earning enough for Hayate). Because it IS significant and I also discussed why there is a difference.

So yes, you are right. You would have to play a SIGNIFICANT amount more in order to accumulate enough FXP in coop.

But if we made it for say 250,000 coal, how would this change? Because you would have to still play a significant amount more to get the Coal. If we made it for Steel, it wouldn't be available necessarily at all, if we made it for RP's or any other currency you have to grind for. It would still be a SIGNIFICANT sink for the coop community.

And I can totally understand that. I would agree that I would be really happy if she had some better concealment, but TBH, in the test, when she HAD that concealment and I played her, I remember actually saying, "this ship is a bit overpowered."

Looking back I should have probably said, "it's just fine" lol.

But I digress, at the end of the day, people have the CHOICE of whether they get the ship or not. For a currency that CAN be earned in game. Which for the average player most of our currencies can be (I am not talking about the competitive currencies).
