Aloha,

Just wanted to give some amplifying information with an illustration sorry ahead of time, but my arts and crafts skills aren't the best.

"When torpedoes are selected (default key 3), the firing arcs of the torpedo launchers will be shown. The arc will be green if the corresponding launcher is loaded, or yellow if it is still reloading. Overlapping arcs are shown with a dashed line. The inner edge of the arc indicates the minimum arming distance of the torpedoes. If no arc is showing on selecting torpedoes, the torpedo armament has been incapacitated."

If you look at the right side screenshot, I have circled the inner edge or "arming distance" for this ships torpedoes. As you can see it is in front of the ship, I am at .5km from the target in that shot, so the torpedoes armed and dealt damage.

In the Left side screen shot you can see the circled inner edge or "arming distance" is actually on the ship and so the torpedoes struck the hull and dealt no damage. I believe in that screen shot I was approximately .2kms from the target ship.

Each ship's arming distance can be different. Hope this helps!

Mahalo,

-Hapa
