As far as I know, it should stay trained into the ship it says on it. I am doing some digging to verify though and will get back to you.

We are giving you 1100 doubloons and reducing the overall cost of retraining by 90%. Which means you are getting 22 captain retrains free.

You mean versus how it is right now? Because you get 0 right now if you dismiss a commander.

Yes on the 21st you will be able to GLOBALLY reset all captains. There should be button on an article that will go live with the patch where you can do so.
This is set to the 21st so that the patch is live on ALL servers when we start this globally.

Assuming you are in the process of training them (through playing on that ship) currently, yes.
Yes it won't be available on patch day. The reason for this is we're waiting until the patch is live on ALL servers first.
