Aloha,

For me, it all depends on what class of ship I am in. As you know me, you know "Hapa's #1 Rule" I always say, "If you're team lemmings, don't be the one commander attempting to hold back the tide"

Now that being said, this changes depending on the class of ship I am in.

1: If in a DD (and depending on what DD) you can stall the empty flank that is pushing you. But you have to be VERY mindful and have mini-map awareness (radar, other DD's, aircraft, etc etc). But run away, dropping torps at targets coming at you.

2: If a cruiser, turn, run and gun!

3: If BB, TURN AND JOIN the lemming train. I have seen many a BB player say something like, "I'm going the other way to hold the flank" only to see them burn and die in a blaze of not so glory.... If I am in a BB though and I join the lemming train, I will be the one pushing... to at least attempt to encourage the train to push with me....

Just my 2 cents... Oh ya... if in a CV I will pretty much ONLY fly my aircraft at the empty flank to keep them lit and menace them as they push....

Mahalo,

-Hapa
