Yes, you should UNINSTALL the old TST client and download the new one.
I know this is going to be a bit of an inconvenience but the testing doesn't start for 2 days!

Any testing or "test server" actions require you to have a test client as this content is not live on the "live server" As for the steam portal, as far as I know, you need to launch the test client from the WGC just make sure you use the same email that your WG account is under.
