All of the validation is done on the ID.ME site, and simply provides us a confirmation of status.

We do not receive any further information from them.

Through this system we are able to securely verify status without needing to receive any documentation from players.

This is just the beginning :)

We may have some other things coming down the line in the future tied to this initiative.

We are hoping to one day offer this sorta of acknowledgement to all veterans and active military members regardless of nation.

We needed to start somewhere and ID.ME provided a safe and secure way for our US Military members. We will continue to look for ways to expand and support other nations as well, while ensuring informational security is important at the same time.

Naturally, we are thankful and appreciative of all military members, and their families for their service.

Hey @Wingslinger
So long as you are verified in your Account Management page and log into World of Warships, the rewards should register. We did notice an initial issue where sometimes the rewards did not appear in the Notification Center but check your port and Flags to find them. Also, try to Exit and Restart your client to force it through.

I did see it on your account. Make sure you signed up to ID.Me and also signed in with your Account Management Page. The article has instructions.

Once you do these things and log into the game, it should instantly appear on your account.

Since this thread has gotten quite long since some of my original answers, I wanted to follow back with some some of the FAQ answers:

I connected my account, but I haven't received my items:

Please restart your client, they will then appear.

Id.ME doesn't seem to be working:

Due to the large amounts of traffic being directed to their site, they may have periodic outages. Please try again in 5-10 minutes.

What about non-USA veterans and military members:

Currently, with keeping mind on your information security, ID.ME only serves USA military members. We will keep an eye on other systems for verifying military members for other nations in a secure fashion. We hope to be able to offer this program for other nations in the future.

Why should I trust ID.ME / Is ID.ME secure:

While you should always do your own research before using any online system/website, ID.ME is affiliated with the US Government and has a strict level of security. This information is detailed on their website. ID.ME does not pass on any of your private information (SSN / DD214s / Etc) onto Wargaming, it only confirms veteran status for our systems.

These rewards aren't the best, what gives:

With this launch we wanted to keep rewards small to begin with, with the idea that these could be expanded upon on in the future.


We once again, thank all of our Military members across all branches and nations for their service. We are pleased so far with the successful launch of this initiative and hope to work even closer with our Veterans in the future.
