I have also written many a novel of responses to the community on various matters of concerns.
There is a player-base of thousands and thousands of active users, and a community team of around 6 per region. High chances is we have seen it, but deemed either:
We have read the complaint and provided an answer previously
The complaint is bias/unjustified or can be proved incorrect
It is incoherent and there is no way for us to reply
We have pulled multitudes of feedback from the player-base and submitted it to the development/balance teams, but it also boarderline impossible to return and follow up on every piece of feedback, particularly when a lot of it is similar. Furthermore, while the community does bring some "on-surface-levels" interesting concepts, they are usually one-dimensional. That is, they address one concern, but would result on a majority of knock on consequences which would be more detrimental than productive.
If you ever feel like a response needs a reply from official staff, don't hesitate to "@" us, we will always endeavor to follow up on them.
As mentioned before, opinions are not always correct. Majority of the time, particularly visible with CVs, the "sides of the fence" are pretty even. For everyone who hates the rework/cvs theres someone else who like them. This has even been evidenced in areas such as someone responding to your prior comment saying they did not feel that CVs were strong.
"Why is it ok for 1 sortie to virtually kill 1 ship." - Reads incoherent. Furthermore, is incorrect. All ships have the ability to kill one ship. BBs have the ability to 1HKO CAs, DDs have the ability to IHKO CAs/BBs, Every ship has strengths and weaknesses. I remember back in the day of RTS CVs I easily had the ability to 1HKO a BB, and could do it in the first 5 minutes of the game. While yes, CVs have the ability to do an impressive chunk of dmg to DDs initially, its nothing in comparison to the instant kill of a torpedo cross drop, and on that point DDs also have the ability to do a large amount of DMG to other ships.
We're not ignoring - tweaks and changes have been made from 0.8.0 through 0.8.7 to improve these interactions.
DDs have ample ability to adjust play to mitigate and reduce the impact of CVs on them. Here is a community video that shows and explains some of the tactics in which a DD player can use to play better against a CV:
There are skills and tactics a player can develop and deploy to reduce the impact a CV has on them, you just have to be wanting to put in the effort to do as much.
Reacting to CVs and not the other way around? CVs also have to react to the battlefield and what the enemy ships are doing. They can to make considerations on angles of attack, ship groupings, deployment of planes. Part of being a good player of ships is reacting to all classes of ships and how the match is developing. CVs have to be reactionary as much as surface ships do. Once again, a perception matter more than a factual matter.
Because Balance.
Of course you naturally want the thing that can do you damage to be reduced or you to be super effective against it. However CVs also need to have viability and opportunity to attack. There are many ships within the game that have strong AA and can counter CVs more than effectively (Friesland anyone?). Not every ship can have baller AA, and those that do usually have it at the expense of other traits.
There has been plenty of communication from Development on the state and progress of CV balancing and our intentions, furthermore, these are explanations, not excuses.
Communication is a two way street, if you're choosing to not review and interact with the provided information and responses and reconsider your opinion in response to, then there is not much that can be done.
Many changes and adjustments have come from community avenues; here are a few of them from the top of my head:
CV limits at different tiers - Limits placed for most tiers at this stage.
Hosho Torpedo problems - Significantly adjusted to prevent torpedo abuse
Plane spotting torpedo - Removal of plane spotting torpedos (consequently improving the potential of DDs)
Development needs to look at the state and health of the game as a whole, not just an individual class.
