There are about as many positive threads as negative nowadays since the finalisation of the CV rework.
I've hit a lot of these before in various threads but here we go again (swapped to numbering for easy reference):
1 - 1 CV per match.
Would result in reduced MM in many cases since CVs would be forces to wait additional time in the Q. While we have restricted it at the higher tiers, it works at these tiers since there is typically less players playing top tier CVs.
2 - Not immune to fire.
I'm not sure I 100% understand what is being meant by this one. CVs have the ability to be set on fire, and they can maintain a fire - albeit for shorter duration due to the DCP consumable. If you acre to elaborate then I can address it better.
3 - Remove unlimited planes
Shall we remove unlimited shells at the same time? Unlimited planes is balanced by the fact the planes are not instant to reload like the were in the old system.
4 - CV v DD Interaction - Damage
While yes, a CV can take a good chunk off a DD with a well timed and laid up drop, this is no different to say a BB taking a 50 salvo on a CA and dev striking it. Furthermore, in the old RTS style, CVs could easily wipe out a DD in their first volley of torpedoes. There are means for a DD to mitigate and reduce the ease of which a CV can attack them if they so choose. This takes skill and openness to look for the related resources to learn how to do this better. But it is possible.
5 - Number of runs per squadron
This is balanced by several factors including:
The interaction of AA
Reduced number of armament per run (IE: Haku torpedoes used to drop off 4 torps at once, now only 2)
Slower longer time to reload down planes
Generally more fragile planes.
6 - Gun/Torp incantation of DDs
Theres modules and skills that help prevent that.
7 - CV spotting
We are testing the spotting for smaller more competitive modes in a closed test. Typically speaking tho, spotting is considerably less than what it was from the RTS mode where a CV could spot large portions of the map at once. While yes a CV can leave a plane over a target / location to provide spotting, there is the opportunity cost associated with this action.
8 - CV counterplay
You mean like:
Shooting them
Torping them
Positioning against them
AA defences
9 - CV sniping
CV sniping technically still is possible, its just not a feasible tactic. Opportunity cost and all again.
10 - CV v CV plane interaction
A big issue with the original RTS mode was that the pure skill of one CV player over another too greatly impacted the viability of battle for the other 11 players on the team. While CVs can interact with other CVs planes through use of the drop plane to defend their team, it is up to them to use this consumable for this purpose and once again opportunity cost.
11 - AA damage
We are currently happy with the balance in this case.
12 - T8 and T10 CVs only
So players learn how to play CVs in a tier that will not be kind to them? How is this concept any different to the frustration caused by newbies buying higher tier premiums. CV skill and potential grows as the tiers do.
13 - CV-less MM
This would impact MM to much by essentially splitting the gameplay queues in half. While this may be fine during prime time, this would greatly impact off-peak times and the smaller servers significantly. Consequence of this would be that once again as in the first point, it would increase the number of reduced participant players resulting in more problems than it solves.
14 - CV Mode
Essentially same as above.
15 - New player filter
New players already have a filter on them for them to "safely" learn the base functionality of the game before they are thrown into the "full" game. As related with point 12, a player would then be thrown in against a ship type they hadn't seen previously, and would just push the issue further along and not fixing any issues.
16 - Manually controlled AA
You don't have enough guns/functionality to do while playing? Please consider Blitz is developed separately from PC WoWS and mobile gameplay is significantly different to PC.
